Welcome to the not606 'My good self'. I think you may also be the first person to vote Rosberg this season.
Ahoy there, MSG. Good to have you aboard. Are you settling in for the long haul or just a floating voter? Might we get the benefit of an occasional quiz?
OK - so we go to Canada next. Pirelli said the tyres would be the same as for Monaco? Is that correct? The teams will be very interested in their tyre stats (and those of others!). Pretty different circuit, granted.
I'm very curious about how the tyres last, if the Bridgestones fell apart last year, well, this could be interesting! I think I mentioned Pirelli's logic before, but apparently it goes something like this: When a tyre doesn't get traction and spins, it wears out. The hard tyres have less grip than the soft tyres, so will spin more, and therefore wear out faster than a softer tyre. If this is true, this may explain where Bridgestone went wrong last year, as I think they took the hardest compounds possible. We'll see though!
Vettel to win again unfortunately, although Flonso might have another opportunity if the supersofts work in his favour in Montreal.
Thanks for all the welcome messages guys. I have been a member since February - but my activity has been non-existant to say the least. Now that my hand has been forced I have reactivated it.
I'm tempted to go for Button. Whilst we know drivers can't manage tyre wear like last year, he has still been the best at it this year. If we do find huge tyre degradation, then he'd be my man to watch. Combine that with the fact its a circuit Mclaren run well at traditionally, and his performance at Monaco (he was putting in fast laps for fun before the safety car), I think he might just pull out something special.
I voted for Hamilton, I think it will be a Hamilton, Alonso, Button podium. However seeing as I have got all my predictions wrong on here people may want to vote for someone else, I even managed to predict Vettel correct for Monaco only to change it to Alonso. At least I am doing ok on the zdkf1 predictions, although I really should start predictiong with my head and not my heart.
genjioleone Well I hope to be a frequent contributor but I tend to work on business hours. Outside of work my contributions will be limited by them there domestic responsibilities. As for quizzes. I have recently been signed up on a long term contract with another forum. But I will see what my agent can do. Does nobody post quizzes on this site?
We do get a few quizzes, it seems to be traditional now to post one when you reach 1000 posts, so myself, Genji and Nick will probably be there soon!
Didn't realise I'd clocked up that many posts, will have to start doing some quizzing research soon then!
I've got exams on until next wednesday, so I'm trying to limit myself to 50 posts in that period, so I can give the quiz my full attention afterwards! Speaking of exams, probably should be concentrating on this afternoons!
I think I've answered everything I can, Bando. Same with Forza's Ferrari quiz - I thought I'd get a lot more 1999 races but my mind's a blank. Interesting tweet (following Pirelli's online chat) about live tyre information for us later this year. Not sure what exactly...
What sort of tyre info? Simply what tyres each driver is on, or do they calculate some sort of coefficient of degradation? That could be an interesting figure to have on screen.
I'd decided on picking Hamilton for this one a couple of weeks ago, but I'm not sure where his head will be. Between Alonso, Button and hamilton though, with maybe an outside chance for Massa.
