When did Coolmore buy Most Improved?

Giofra is the one for me in the Queen Anne at 16/1. Only time she's run over a mile in England she won a decent enough group 1 at Newmarket. With the allowance this 5 year old could easily be capable of winning. It certainly wouldn't surprise if she ran a place.

Reckless Abandon in the King Stand - ran a blinder LTO with the penalty and proved himself a very capable sprinter. Shea Shea is an obvious major threat if his form with Sole Power is to be believed but there's not much between them for my money so i'd prefer to take 7/1 each way that 5/2 win.

I see that the Mr O’Brien’s are favourites to win top trainer and top jock at next week’s meet. Paddy Power make Aidan 2’s on and young Joseph an Even money shot.

    The full markets are:

Top Royal Ascot trainer - 1-2 Aidan O'Brien, 4 Richard Hannon, 7 Sir Michael Stoute, 8 Saeed Bin Suroor, 12 Mark Johnston, 16 John Gosden, 25 Luca Cumani, William Haggas, 33 Jeremy Noseda, Andrew Balding, Lady Cecil

Top Royal Ascot jockey - Evens Joseph O'Brien, 3 Ryan Moore, 13-2 Jamie Spencer, 7 Richard Hughes, 8 Silvestre de Sousa, 10 Paul Hanagan, 16 William Buick, 25 Joe Fanning, 33 Tom Queally, Jim Crowley, Johnny Murtagh, 50 Frankie Dettori

Surely the old boys only creditable opposition is Ryan Moore and the Hannon/Hughes axis, isn’t it???

Magician's still favourite. Odds against about Dawn Approach. What the actual ****?

So the plan for DA all along was to have a couple of mile races and then take it from there later in the season unless the operation was caught in a massive doping scandal in which case he'd go in the Derby in the hope of getting a bit of good publicity back.

    Maybe I'm just being cynical............

St James palace looking interesting now.

3/1 for Ryan Moore to be top jockey looks huge. Evens on O'Brien is a joke.

Dawn Approach and Magician now vying for favouritism on Betfair. Personally I wouldn't back DA with stolen money at that sort of price. Maybe in-running, if he settled through the first furlong. After the way he got all lit up at Epsom, he won't be carrying any of my money until I have seen him settle.

I see that a whopping 63, I say 63, entries were made yesterday re next Tuesday’s ‘Ascot Stakes’. This now leaves Mr Henderson’s Lieutenant Miller right on the cusp as to whether he will get a run (maximum field size is 20).

The stable suffered the misfortune, a few years back, of seeing Tasheba (when he was fully primed and ready to go very close) ‘miss the cut’ by 1 in this race and I really hope a similar scenario doesn’t occur in 2013. Let’s really hope, people, that the Lieutenant makes the final line-up.

Anyone got Queen Mary betting up yet, intrigued to see if we can get a generous price on the US raider Sweet Emma Rose owned by ma boy Wes Welker (NFL player formerly of my beloved Patriots)

We all know Wesley Ward ran amock with a couple of 2yo a few years back, and this one has caught my eye over in the States. Big price and can see me getting a big run for my $

The ‘ranking list’ for the Ascot Stakes is now out and Lieutenant Miller is number 22. He will therefore need a couple of those above him to come out in order to secure a berth in the old heat. Fingers crossed, people.

Mr Henderson has meanwhile made the very positive jockey booking of Graham Lee re the Lieutenant.

Nice touch that Henry's name will be added to the Queen's Vase this year. These Germans aren't all hard-hearted Sir Barney.

Yep, agree, nice touch, Bustino. 'The Queen's Vase In Memory of Sir Henry Cecil' is a lovely name for a race.

Re Sweet Emma Rose, Betfair are the only firm trading on the ‘Queen Mary’. 9/1 available. Beldale Memory the warm 9/4 Fav.

A minute's silence will also be held in memory of Sir Henry - after arrival of the royal precession on the Tuesday.

Sir Barney, for the last time, even if the whole damn forum agrees with you, N.Henderson is NOT my favourite trainer, never was and never will be. Oh, maybe you should get a job with Fox News on the other side of the pond; suit you right down to the ground? <laugh>
