    I suppose it's an attempt at being the most surreal Toon thread ever, but without actually denominating a specific subject...

    Once considered, the only question has to be; Where do I start?

    I suppose it's just a bit out-of-reach for some folk...

    Possibly, but it really doesn't have to begin that way. <diva>

    Ok, perhaps i'm starting to formulate a direction for this thread now...

    I will point it in the direction of Papiss Cisse and his Muslim chums - the BBC are now reporting his hypocritical stance regarding 'Wonga' and their sponsorship of the club.

    None of the players made a noise about having 'Virgin Money' as the shirt sponsor, yet 'Wonga' is against the principles of their religion?

    <laugh>

    I know that footballers are supposed to be of low-intelligence, but surely they know the only difference between Virgin Money & Wonga, is the APR?

    Any slight hint of substantiation to this story yet, or just the same old cobblers being spouted by a somewhat more respectable source ?

    To be fair, the BBC are pretty careful about what they publish on their site - they wouldn't publish unless they had some pretty good 'sauces'. <cool>

    I'm fairly sure that any religion, if they looked hard enough, could find "reasons" for sport in general to be banned, for the wearing of socks, or shorts, or the use of pigs bladders, and so on. Seems unfortunate that one can just point the finger at muslims - but I'm pretty sure the bible is against gambling, bigotry, profiteering, corruption, violence, yada-yada, yet not many good Christian souls seem to be complaining.

    The BBC, without any hint of substantiation, say that they understand that Cisse is "concerned" about Wonga.

    This is still so far from being a story.

    Possibly, but Cisse has the backing of the PFA over this and it seems nobody else has noticed that Papiss is pictured happily wearing the 'Virgin Money' shirt...
