http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1467197/denilson-leave-arsenal?cc=4716 :-D One of the best things out of this transfer window so far. Now just move on to Squilachi and Santos. It's very strange with the amount of talented Brazilian players out there, Arsenal managed to get some of the worst, in Santos and Denilson.
So that's Arshavin,Squillaci and Denilson out of the door. A very good start to this summer transfer window, IMO.
He was captain of every age group for Brazil up to the main team, shows how much they rated him at one point. He's had glimpses of talent but overall very disappointing.
He is still a fairly decent player, after all he IS being played by Santos. For me, he was just a very bad fit for the EPL. He likes to slow the game down South American style and play a very precise tactical game. I don't think that works in our high energy league. Italy would be a good place for him IMO.
I watched the 2006-07 Carling Cup final again a while back, and he was brilliant in that game alongside a young Cesc and Diaby.
Best dancer we ever had

Of all the deadwood we release Denilson who we could probably get a transfer fee for. We are not going to get a penny for Chamakh, Park, Bendtner or Diaby, we should have terminated their contracts, not Denilson's.
just heard hull are interested in denilson. Take it you guys wern't impressed. I know little about him. Is he not good enough for one of the new boys ?
He's a lazy POS who on his day is average for Arsenal level. He HAD potential but not anymore. He'd probably do a job for a lower table side but he can't cut it for the top clubs.
The problem always was, what is a Denilson? He was too lightweight & didn't enjoy tackling enough to be a DM. He didn't have the vision for through balls or quick play to be an AM. He lacked the long ball precision or willingness to track back to be a playmaker. He struggled and failed because no-one knew what he was, and the fans were infuriated watching him casually jog back while attacking players ran past him, untracked, only to be on the edge of the box to finish chances.
I think if you play him in an advanced roll he will actually do a good job for you. That is the position he looked so promising in until Arsene felt for some reason he would better off being a 5'8", 140lb midfield destroyer.
Has that laid-back South-American style that rubs English fans up the wrong way. Does nothing excellently, but is a very well-rounded player. Technically excellent, he could still be a success somewhere.
