Yep, I've called Spurs fans Spuds.... When I was about 12 years old. You need help, that said, I'd rather you on a forum venting your anger on an anonymous forum at people you don't know, than on the streets where you could actually be a danger.
I don't know you and you don't know me, hence anonymity and posting under an alias. Anyway I'm done with this, if you want to continue your unprovoked tirade against me, that's your prerogative but I'm here to talk football and it's time to get back in line with the topic of the thread or else I presume SJW/Cym/PISKIE will have to close it which ruins things for everybody. It was a perfectly decent thread before people launched unprovoked personal attacks against other members.
Everywhere on this site decent discussions and light hearted banter are taking place. Then you crop up chatting **** about things you clearly have no clue about. What you do is try and bait people. Now I know on here its not a banable offence but usually it would be an instant ban on most forums so you are quite lucky there. You do it on every board while trying to pally up to the supporters of that particular board as gunner pointed out. The amazing thing is you think people dont see it and that people consider you a good intelligent poster. Thats the funniest thing about it, you genuinely think you are being clever yet we are all laughing at you. Of course when someone makes you look a fool you ban them from your board so that you can hide away amongst the other idiots on the Chelsea board. poster on there taking the piss out of Munich and Hillsborough yet you dont do **** because you need those idiots to back up your nonsense and make you feel special. I also thought you were 24/25 but your recent admission to not calling Spurs 'Spuds' since you were 12 makes me think you are infact 12. Apologies Arsenal mods
That's the nature of the Premier League and the Oligopoly it has created. At least the Football League is unpredictable despite a lower quality of player.
Not much more I can add to what hasn't already been said. IMO, PowerSpurs hit the nail on the head. Comes down to whether you think it is good competition or not.
It is better than anywhere else. Arsenal's ability to force their way into the party shows that it IS possible. Younger people don't know that Arsenal were just the same as Everton, West Ham, Spurs, and Leeds back in the day. Yes, money is a big part of it, but it IS possible to work your way up as long as you resist the temptation to spend money on lottery ticket players instead of investing any money you make into a long term future. This is why a lot of Arsenal fans (I think a large majority) don't care about the spell without a trophy. We have gone through those spells before, but this time we can actually see an end product. ANY club could have done it, but Arsenal did do it. It is now looking like we are through the worst and we can spend. I don't know if Wenger puts it correctly when he talks about the top 4. It isn't finishing in the top 4 that is significant. It is membership in that top 4 clique that UnitedinRed is talking about, which is important. Chelsea finished 6th last year, but nobody thinks they are not in that group. Spurs are not important, because even if they did force their way into the top 4 for a year or two they still don't have the financial muscle to be in the club. No one will consider them part of the elite group.
Can't disagree with that. But I do think the heavy investment has helped consolidate our position in that oligopoly of clubs. Unlike United, Liverpool and to a lesser extent Arsenal, we were never amongst the elite group of clubs. But Harding's investment took us to another level and Abramovich to a level even beyond our wildest expectations.
Why don't you go and spend a few months actually experiencing first hand the districts of Tottenham. The people that live there right now are mainly the offspring of immigrant parents, who moved out of war-torn countries and living in poverty for a better life in England - of course, they chose areas such as Tottenham which still have very, very low housing prices - and quality. And then you've got the people who's families have been there for decades if not centuries. Are they going to be well off? Of course they aren't. The area south Tottenham was originally used as an inner city hub popular for those working in local factories; such as textiles, extremely low paid jobs. And because housing was extremely cheap, the district started to expand. Tottenham, as well as Bruce Grove, Harringay, Barking, Stoke Newington, Deptford, Bromley etc. etc. is always going to be a neglected area. The cycle is always going to continue. I hope you've been a little more enlightened by my post. It's a little embarrassing seeing people such as yourselves snobbishly laugh at those less fortunate, adopting the view that was widely accepted in the 1800s. Fortunately, along with slave trading being acceptable, that opinion has since been dispelled. If you don't believe what I just said, have a look at the writings of Seebohm Rowntree and Charles Booth (writings that influenced David Lloyd George and Winston Churchill), and hopefully you'll change your mindset a little.
Bromley is a blue belt Tory voting shire full of Jag driving Kentish lads who've made good on their trust funds, topped up with coke deals. Neglected is about as far as you can get for a description of the area.
I went into my local kebab shop the other night and realised there was a point to N17.I noticed the cookers and spits for the kebabs were made by a company called Archway whose address was Paxton Road N17
Yeah he was the owner of a Chocolate company. OT: And I don't know why I thought of Bromley, that whole area is pretty affluent.
