    7.50 Roscommon Rathlin 15/8 n/r

Giggingtown representative who has proven a very capable chaser. Runs in a fairly hot looking race but Steps To Freedom would have to reproduce his best hurdling form to run him close and I don't think we'll ever see him hit those highs again. Tribes and Banners is the main threat.

    8.20 Jetson 13/2

I'll have to take a leap of faith that his first chase run was a mere aberration because his hurdle form leaves him so far clear of this field and his mark that I have to back him. If he gets his jumping act together he'll win. If he doesn't he'll tail off again so I'm win only. The fact he went off 11/10 on chasing debut against a strong field including Rathlin indicates he's better than we've seen over the bigger obstacles.

Action Master, Roscommon, handicap chase 8.20 ew @14/1. This one went into my notebook after his effortless win over hurdles at Cheltenham last October. Ran creditably over hurdles of 140 at the festival but needed better ground. Gets that tomorrow and will be running off 126 (123 with jockey's claim). Must run well. Good luck all.

    Evening all,

3 selections for me tomorrow- all from my local track :D

14.45 - Al Maanal- Evens- NAP

Very short price here for a maiden, but looked badly for some experince on 1st run in august, she looked very decent next time at Wolverhampton. She has a striking pedigree, very unexposed and with yard bang in form- evens doesnt look so short!

    16.45- Excuse To Linger- 3/1 N/B

Won very comfortably at wolverhampton over 6f, looked very good and caught the eye over 7F and ran well over an extended mile- but was just pulling to hard and didnt see out the trip, is off the same mark as his last run at windsor, when second to Sea Shanty- this will be more his track and interesting that Willy Buick is down for one ride he has 50% strike rate at brighton, so if the fav who is too short for me with too many questions fails to win, Excuse to linger will be there to take advantage!

    17.15 - Volcanic Dust- 10/3

Made the best out a bad situation lto at bath- was held up for too long but came rattling home but was left way to late and never reached the leading pack but was a very eye catchign run- has been dropped 2lbs by the handicapper after that run. The horse likes brighton winning 2/3 and not to menton the jockey- his only ride the brighton specialist is firing on all cylinders will like this sharp track and should take all the beating

The maiden at Roscommon is a bloody good race.

Inkerman and Indian Icon both ran lovely debuts against horses with a lot of potential and I'd be keen on both to beat the likely favourite, Silver Lightning. The presence of the Weld horse may lengthen their price. Without seeing a market i think Inkerman is the one to be on.

Inkerman opened 2/1 this morning. Really fancy it.

I like Macaabra in the 4.45, got 2/1 on it. The ease of winning lto plus a claimer should see this one go in again.

Also on Cut the Cards (5.00 newton) and Forever My Friend 4.00, singles doubles.

Any prices for Jetson anywhere bob? very interested in this horse.

Wooly I totally agree with Excuse to linger at Brighton and have backed him to a sum I would rarely do at a track like Brighton, as I tend have very poor success at the track.

It's my view that he needs only repeat the level of run behind Sea Shanty in his last race to take this comfortably and the price is very big. As well as the Sea Shanty form he has good form against the Hannon horse Intrigo whom he was beaten 2 lengths by giving 4lb. The way I see it is that were either of these two horses in this race they would be heavily odds on and so Excuse to Linger must be backed at anything above 7-4 really. I missed the 3-1 that you have put up but have 11-4.

Brighton 16.45 Can't get away from Macaabra at 7/4 (BV & B365). Yours will be suited by the drop in trip Wooly but I think he will be hard pressed to beat Macaabra

Morning, troops. If asked to describe today’s racing in one word then I’d respond, ‘Woeful’. Not even a meet at God’s own racecourse, Newton Abbot, can liven up proceedings, I’m afraid.

‘No bet’ for me today but if the dear old regular readers want one to keep a close eye on one may I suggest Mr Charlton’s Aspirant in the card commencer at Royal Windsor (6.30). Usually only a lunatic would look beyond one of Hannon’s in a 2YO maiden at the course but Aspirant is a nicely bred type and the yard certainly know how to place their charges effectively.

Meanwhile, Sir Cesc now as low as 15/8 to rejoin The Arsenal this summer. My advice...even at that price, GET ON!

    Good luck all.

17:00 Newton Abbot - Party Palace

(Good speed figures and has decent chance to make it three-in-a-row. He could prove me wrong of course, but I question whether Cut The Cards will handle the fast ground, on breeding that is).

I would love too see Cest return to my beloved gunners sbc but i reckon Man utd are seriously considering putting in a bid.The lack of trophies and the chance to link up with rvp again my sway his decision to go to utd

Cesc at Old Trafford would be the ultimate nail in the coffin for The Arsenal. We have got ‘first refusal’ (whatever that really means) under the terms of his sale 2 years ago though.

Amazing entry at Fontwell tomorrow, meanwhile. I see Mick Channon has got an unraced 7 year-old out (2.45)! Michael Michael is the geldings name.

It's very hard to second guess how loyal a player is Barney but i'd be astonished if he selected United over The Arsenal. The major concern for your fans would surely be whether or not The Arsenal is actually lining up a serious offer for him. If, there is no deal being offered and he goes to Old Trafford then the The Arsenal board will only have itself to blame.

Fabregas said only recently he would only return to England to play for Arsenal and no one else so it will be them again or no one if he sticks to his word. Although money talks alot nowaday's in the game.

Can't see cesc going Manu that would be treason he doesn't strike me as a tevez type character and believe if the board allow arsene to relax the purse strings on salaries and attract 3 quality players (cen defender, cen mid and proven goal scorer) cesc would jump at the chance but anything can happen in the mad mad world of the premiership
