Great article summed up by this: "If he is dealt a tougher hand, however, Laudrup’s tendency is to cut and run rather than risk any harm to his personal reputation." Can't argue with that.
Shame our own bloggers cant put a piece together like that, think the guy is spot on with his comments, especially the need to build continuity in management at Swansea, the strange thing is Laudrup said the same thing when he signed the new deal. I believe Laudrup is a great manager, especially for a club like Swansea. If he can bring the top players in it gives us a short cut to success, at the moment there is a tight grip on ambition, everybody is hoping the meeting this week will mean a compromise is made. The Article was a Great read
BONJOUR!..Think I have enough info on this issue with Laudrup now, and I am not happy with his tantrum, so if he doesn't like it here, and the way we do things, then he can clear off. I am more than happy for Huw to reign him in to our spending system, but if he won't play ball then ou revoir Mr Laudrup, and hello GIO Franco Zola, I've always liked ZOLA, a very humble man, and one I've always wanted at the Liberty, do what you need to do Huw!..........
Have to admit, he was talking on Sky Sports News earlier and I thought he would be a cracking choice to replace ML should he leave as he would also have the big name appeal to draw players to our club.
I - for one - always doubted that Laudrup is the long-term manager solution for Swansea. He will keep his possibility of a fast exit open; not because of vanity, as mentioned in the article, but because of his level of ambition. Not that he's aiming for "the Big Club", but because he seeks Progress, evoultion in the way his team plays. I believe that Swansea need a man WHO will do the long-term-job: establishing the Club in mid-table in the PL, a task that will go on for the years to come. Laudrup is a fantastic inspiration, showing what CAN be achieved. And he will stay as long as there is Progress made (and as long as no Club shows £10 mill).
Swansea have earmarked Gus Poyet and Gianfranco Zola as potential replacements for unsettled boss Michael Laudrup. You know i was thinking about the apparent lack of activity moaned about by ML. Well how many players have the other 19 clubs actually signed. We are no further behind any of them or are we.
I think ML's reputation will take a hit if he leaves - the rumblings around his petulance when faced with a challenge have started - this was the perfect opportunity to quieten them!
bloody hell that did not take long to turn on laudrup.. our chairman and board yet again get away with a clean bill of health ....Laudrup is the innocent party here just like our other managers we have lost due to the club acting foolishly....laudrup has been let down badly and even though he will stay he will have less chance of keeping us in the premiership than what he knows it will take.....his job will be much harder and the chances of us being relegated has increased but jinx and the board wont care they know the fans will blame the manager like they always do....I thought slagging off martinez, sausa and rodgers was wrong but with laudrup then some have hit new heights.....must be a record..
I did say last week on Norway's 'Bad News' thread that Laudrup's agent is becoming a pain in the rear, and was causing all sorts of problems, and if Laudrup won't talk directly to our board, then he can clear off!.........
