Don't know much about the lad, apart from he apparently did very well against PL opposition in the cup and is very good in the air. Not the first time leeds60 has predicted our transfers.

Well, I am very happy with this signing to be honest. Good strong young player with something to prove, has also shown the ability in league 1 and has some real potential to take us forward and in fact reminds me slightly of the likes of Grant Holt and Ricky Lambert who both came from League 1. I have been saying that I expect McDermott to sign a few players from league 1 and 2, thats what he has tended to do previously with Reading (Le Fondre being the main one).

Also on another note, this has come out of nowhere. I tend to like this style of business, seems more professional and it also gives us fans more excitement as well when transfers all of a sudden happen and come out of nowhere

Leeds60 is in regular contact with the club and I must admit we have good conversations and seem to spot some gems between us (I didn't agree with this player though 15 goals in 81 at lower level is average)

We spoke about David Perkins from Barnsley about 18 months ago and really would love him at Leeds

I like what you have said about Perkins but I don't really know him properly to be honest. I'd like us to get McCann from Burnley, he's on a free

    Squad player hopefully.

Great in the air, crap on the deck. Wingers are a must if we are going to get the most of Smith. You can see he is going to be a handfull at set pieces which we havent had in a long time.

We're off & running. For the moment at least, in BMD I trust. Will be interesting to see how he goes pre-season, as wll be the case for the whole squad. Like others I want to see either Hall step up, be sent out on loan to develop, or be moved on. At the same time, I want a genuine pacey winger. If we get that and Austin finally gets a break before returning to dominate our midfield, I'll be content. Dawson will hopefully push on from last season. We'll manage to hang on to Byram (when is his contract due to expire by the way?). Poleon will certainly push for a starting spot, or at least a regular spot on the bench. All in all, my cup is suddenly over half full.

Unfortunately Somma's injury finally caught up with him, and as such, was released a couple of weeks ago. Pity really, but no great surprise.

We like forwards called Smith. We also like players who've come from Non league. So all we need now is for him to show the agression of Alan & the finishing of Jermane, & we'll be laughing.

Will probably end up with the agression of Morisson and the finishing of Paynter. Only joking people, dont snap

Eire, given our luck in recent years, your comment might end up being the most accurate of the lot. Let's hope not. I also hope that we don't have to wait too long for the next one through the doors. Pre-season in 2 weeks. I'd quite like to see most if not all our business done before they're back training, or at worst, by the time of the first pre-season match.

Smith has scored 14 goals in 75 games since joining the Latics from Solihull Moors.

Sounds a good buy <ok> might get you 5 goals next season add that to Morisons 5 and youre laughing <laugh>
