Summer 2013 Transfer Rumour Thread

Heard from a friend we were after Rhys Williams from Middlesborough for about £3.5m. I don't know anything about him or how true this is.

 

Weren't we linked with him last year, before he suffered a long-term injury?

 

Considering MP said he wanted our squad for next year sorted for 3 weeks time I think that may be a little ambitious considering our lack of signings to date. Whatever happened to the two players that he said were almost signed before the season even ended....

 

Cortese is apparently causing problems with agents due to contracts and ****

 

But thats not even news everyone knows hes a tight bastard

 

Lets face it, it was a pipe dream and was never going to happen!

According to the PL, Lloyd Isgrove & Omar Rowe were both out of contract, but have been offered new deals.

Most interesting thing is that Jack Cork's middle name is Porteous!!!

 

I wanted to give Mauricio a hug when he said that. Wanted to tell him, 'You have no idea.'

 

He's cut the % of income paid as wages from over 100% in 2011/12 to about 59% last season. Obviously the income has gone up, but you don't manage that without being prudent. We pay one of the lowest figures to agents in the PL...remember Ramirez's agent gave up and waived his fee to get the move done. Let's hope he can get the balance right and we get players we want.

 

Later season finishes abroad, international fixtures, U21 tourney & good old fashioned holidays.
Still three weeks to go and a little more until pre-season and we have been strongly rumored to have signed someone last week.

 

How many players have we missed out on because of it though?

 

That's what I mean about getting the balance right. We don't want to be like QPR and pay stupid money and wages and then end up with players who don't really care. On the other hand, it might be nice for the manager to have some new players for preseason.

 

More rumours about Dejan Lovren today, I take it you guys have already mentioned him?

 

Players get paid handsomely to play football for Southampton.
The clubs vision is clear and if a player does not buy into that for the sake of a few thousand £s extra then he is probably not the type of player we want.

 

Unfortunately. He's good on FIFA and FM, and plays for a good team, so I think we're allowed to forget that he's actually pretty crap.

 

I don't know too much about him, just that liverpool and milan are also rumoured to be interested.

 

This has been posted a couple of times, but it's still quite poignant - what better way to find out about a player than the opinions of his own fans?
