Now lads, anyone follow Sunderland News and Banter page on Facebook

the news from over in Argentina is that Orban will soon officially be a black cat, I would post the link but it won't let me

it sounds like the lad has power and is full of running, at least he has the attributes to succeed over here, hopefully more Arca than Angeleri.

1 thing though we need to look at Colocini up the road, he was ****e for the first season, this lad needs time

Heard its done as well just waiting for his season to finish before its finalised.

He's mean to be very decent, but I don't know what this means for Rose.

I think we will go for Rose with Orban as back up

as I said this lad needs time, would be a massive gamble to throw him in

it worked with Arca mind, I remember his debut, I loved the man from day 1 but who knows it could take this lad 6months before he is ready

even another loan move for Rose would be good IMO as it would give Orban time to settle

Not a bad idea that Poolie, gives orban time to settle, Rose can play left wing and we save funds for elsewhere.

We still need him. two for every position?

I know we've got by on one or two natural full backs for years now but that's not normal.

I can see us walking away from the rose deal

Spurs will want the thick end of £10m for him

Me too, but it could be a ploy to set Levy thinking.

Jack Colback is not a natural fullback though is he? it's like playing gardener at right back, Richardson at leftback. We've been doing it for years and it's stupid. I want two natural left backs competing and two natural right backs competing. That's normal.

Anyone any idea of just how far back you have to go to find this scenario?

Thats a tough one that mind, i wlll research this very thing

You have to go back to 2002 for us not to have a player on loan in one of the positions

Watched quite along highlight vid of him on YouTube that someone posted on facebook. Doesn't look like he gets forward much. But reads the game well, great at tackling. In a sprint to the ball he looks like he's second to it then he seems to still win the ball with a great sliding tackle.
If I had a choice I would take rose simply because he gets forward a lot and has pace. That said this is just based on YouTube footage.

well we have got to look to move him on then, the lad is not good enough in CM

Jack Colback could have a very good future if he played full back, Di Canio has came out and said Left Back is his best position

But he wasn't a good enough left back at the start of the season was he? Most were saying at the close of last season that he shouldn't be playing there, one year on and now he's good enough in most eyes to play right back. The lad's raising his game and has hit a development spurt (ha ha, spurt!) if he can consistently play well out of position then he can master his own position. He's responded well to PDC's ways. I don't buy he's not good enough for CM, he's one of our best passers of the ball. He needs loads of work yes but don't all developing players? To say he incapable of doing that is unfair when he's so adequate playing out of position.

Rose isn't coming. Spurs are selling Assou-Ekoto and Bale no longer plays LB for them

should be a squad player to come in to do a job at either full back slot if the first choice (which will be new signings) get injured

He's 6 ft 1 and can also play centre back so he's not going to be another Danny Rose.
If we sign him we'll suddenly have a lot if height in out team with N'Diaye and Cabral in midfield.
