Would rather take a shotgun to the kneecaps than live in Birmingham. That and Brixton.

But Brixton would be so convenient for where I work.

And some places in B-ham are ok. Like Selly Oak.

Some places in every city/town/district are lovely. For example, the O2 Academy in Brixton is very nice. As in Gunwharf in Portsmouth. However, I'd not like to live in either of those or Birmingham because the crap doesn't balance it out.

The Birmingham accent stresses me out. When I was a kid I always had to go visit my grandparents in Shrewsbury and I hated it. They moved down here since and now I never have to go back. :)

A few people who I know from Uni are from around Birmingham, and I agree that the accent is annoying.

According to the bookies, we are tenth favourite to win the PL. Now I know that is the same as no chance, but nice that we have been noticed and that a lot of other teams are rated as worse than us. Another slow news day<laugh>

Probably of particular interest to PompeyLapras...according to The Independent, the Doncaster Belles have been told they will be relegated and not play in the top league next season whatever they do. This is apparently to make room for the richer Man City team. Other teams have spoken out against this as the Belles have never been in the relegation spot in their whole history. They are taking legal advice as it does seem reprehensible.

So in other words, we're going to be the perfect definition of mid table mediocrity.

Oh yeah, I heard the Doncaster situation and it's a complete and utter joke. In fact it's a total disgrace, why the **** should Doncaster who have been at the forefront of women's football for years be relegated to make room for some mediocre team that finished mid-table in the division below that are only being promoted twice because they have lots of financial backing from the men's team, the same men's team that have **** all history and have just bought the league and the FA Cup? I saw Man City play this season and they were pretty rubbish, and they lost to Portsmouth twice. Part of my main interest in women's football is the fact that it doesn't have the rampant corruption and greed of men's football but apparently the FA are doing their best to destroy that (what with this, and Liverpool in the process of buying the league as well as the franchising of Lincoln). There's actually a petition calling on the FA to reinstate Doncaster, no idea whether it will work but here's the link if you want to sign it which you should because whether you're interested in women's football or Doncaster Belles or not, the whole principle is completely ****ed up: http://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/doncasterbelles

Yeah I am a music geek and yeah it does ooze with money, there are plenty of rich people, especially the international students. There's a joke that the nearby Masserati garage is the international students' carpark. I wasn't one of those oozing money though, neither were most of my mates.
