It's too late now!...Next time you are in the Kingston Suite you should apologise profusely and buy him lots of drinks...he's the one who looks like a white Craig Charles!!! Very nice chap too!
What you want is one of those GPO red Bantams..seen one go for just over £3,000 not long ago. And to think when the post office scrapped telegrams you could pick the GPO Bantams up for £20 and less. Went to a motor museum nr windermere in April. Could not believe it...5 Gleaming Vincents on display all owned by the same bloke.. Drool..... And loads of classic bikes. Some scooters etc. That twat who wrote the HDM article called a lambretta a ****ing moped the cheeky **** Grrrrr
Unfortunately my experience with the said Bantam, the last model they made I believe a D14/4, was most unsatisfactory, more to the point it was a load of crap. Brand new and it spent more time in Miles than on the road, they refused to give me my money back or change it for another make and advised me to write to BSA, which I did. What I didn't know at that point was that BSA was on the verge of bankruptsy so it was a waste of time writing, they did reply, sorry about the trouble I was having blah blah but my problem was with the dealer not BSA. The Post Office versions were indeed cheap and I think I might have been better off with one of those or the water cooled police bikes that got sold off not long after, Vellocette? can't remember now.
The 'Noddy Bike'? - yes, it was a Velocette. https://www.google.co.uk/search?gs_...N&tab=wi&authuser=0&ei=HUi0UZ6_F6mk0AXW_YCQDQ
FFS don't start with the white Craig Charles thing again, I've only just shaken that one off. I'll let you off Suited.
If people want to roam the internet looking for dirt on you they will, what you write on a football thread should stay in football but I'm sure stuff gets around. I never write any business or very perso info on here either.
besides are there always clues.. I mean how many Hull City supporters are there in Lyon? I know around 3!!
Thanks Stan, yes I had forgotten it was called a Noddy Bike, the pictures on the link are great as well. Only really rode one 'big' motorbike the Ariel Square Four, nearly broke my leg trying it kick it off, it kicked back
I had a 150CC Bantam, which I had a lot of fun with, though it was always difficult to start, so usually end by running is off to get started. Then went on to a Tiger cub and then a Bonneville for a short time, but soon upgraded to a car as it was to bloody cold in the winter.
True John, but I stuck it out getting a windscreen on my then motorbike, a Yamaha at this point, and it did help. Bit of a bind in snowstorms as the snow blotted our my vision I did eventually get a car, Morris 1300 estate then would you believe, an Allegro, which I actually liked. But I missed the bike thing but by this time motorbikes were not cheap any more so now I'm back on the bike thing, but a push bike this time
Rode one round Quadrant when I was a kid, no one could kick start it so the smallest (me) sat on it as the rest of the gang bump started it. I got it going but couldn't stop it, lucky it had a side car!!
My first bike was a Matchless WW2 D.R. 350cc side-valve monster. Nearly broke my leg kicking it off....many times. Then a 1957 Triumph 500 Speed Twin http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgu...m0UdCvBseX1AX0zIGIDQ&ved=0CDEQ9QEwAA&dur=2226 ....then a Panther 325cc Villiers 2-stroke https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=p...N&tab=wi&authuser=0&ei=THq0UZXLCqfZ0QWd04GwCw
Some great motorcycles being mentioned. I might have seen you being pushed on the Ariel Square 4. A brute of a machine. In sure someone called Bill use to have one on 21st ave years ago. Bloody sidecars are worth a fortune nowadays. A car on a council estate use to be a rare site Melu hence the roller skate races on 21st and the big mud fights..
Talking about snow storm, on the day City played Chelsea in the 6th round of the cup at Stamform bridge 1966, I can remember driving down Willerby Road on my Bantam with my pal on the back in a snow storm to meet the bus outside ABC in the town. By the time we got to London on the coach it was like a spring days. Talk about 2 seasons in one day.
'Watsonian' or 'Steib'!!!!! http://watsoniansquire.wordpress.com/ https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=s...N&tab=wi&authuser=0&ei=_om0UdGJGKal0AW7yID4Bg
It was Bill, I'm sure of it Scar, he used to ride a moped about without an engine!! Bad news from me I'm afraid, well not that bad, but after 53 years of calling home 33rd ave, me Mam is moving to a bungalow. It's not been the same since me Dad popped his clogs. ****ing Greenwood shut down for good the day after he died. Now I don't need to drive avoiding the half bricks the kids still use as footballs down fifth anymore. My home matchdays will never be the same. Even going to the National, has lost its glow.
