Argentine international striker Nacho Scocco is set to shun interest from Premier League Sunderland, according to his agent. Scocco has been on loan in Argentina with Newell's Old Boys from Al Ain, and he has been in sensational form - finishing the season with 27 goals in 36 games. Scocco, though, looks set to shun interest from Europe - including from Sunderland, and is set to extend his stay with Newell's. "Sunderland are interested in Scocco, but they know Nacho's claims," said Scocco's agent Fabian Soldini. "Nacho thinks that if he has to leave Newell's, where he is happy, he is going to do so to play in the Champions League. "If there is not anything that is interesting, Ignacio will stay until the end of the year at the club (Newell's)."
Surly if he wants to play in the champions league there would be no quicker route to this than playing in the most watched league in the world hence putting himself in the shop window. Oh we'll, can't have them all....
After this window I bet we never hear of him again. That's how much playing in that league is going to get him CL football.
He has a pretty '****' record to be fair playing for no-one clubs in a no-one league and I am not at all disappointed by this news? Especially for the daft money that is being bandied about for him. Strictly a second rate footballer imo, with a second rate career so far and a second rate scoring record.
