"so the board will be a much better place for the next few weeks". There are some who would disagree with you,Dill. One mans meat, etc.
It was much better a few weeks ago when he had a ban Vetch, I can't remember anyone having a single cross word, not even arguementative twats like me or jäger (no offence jäger you know I love you )
Think as a city Swansea have to back these kind of events , I work in the arts and there is a major lack of funding full stop , so any local artist and residents in my opinion should be jumping at the chance to participate in this , understand that many on this board will feel my opinion will be biased because of the football team I support, but this isn't about football , I live in Essex and yearly we have street theatre( in chelmsford ) , the amount of people visiting and revenue this creates is amazing and each year it seems to get bigger , I'm biased and think the arts have a massive role to play in society , and can be a force for good and drive investment
Dill,I'm not sure banning anyone makes this a "better" place. In fact,I think the opposite is true. Many people visit here, and we should set an example by making this place safe for the lone voice to express himself, providing that the House rules are observed. Toleration of others and their opposing views should be the norm. THAT would make this place "better". I don't agree with all views expressed here, but I accept that posters have a right to be different, and choose what I want to read accordingly. Dai is coming under flak again, and to a lesser extent,Knackered. Surely it's time to move on,realise you can't be everyone's cup of tea,and stop all this banning talk.
Bluebird,I lived in Amsterdam for some time and they don't like having empty shop premises. They are made available to local art and craft groups, and the resulting displays enhance the locality. Newport did something similar on their High Street. It's a scandal to see all the empty shops up and down the country. Lottery money could be made available, but they would rather spend it on buying Churchill's letters and the like.
Something similar here , in chelmsford there are two shops given over to local artist ( professional and amateur ) art shouldn't just be for the ruling classes, and cost millions to create or own , the exposure from something like this would give Swansea and Wales a boost and that can't be bad , just like I'm sure prem football has boosted the local economy , art can do the same
