Nope. There are a few that I wouldn't be too disappointed with, particularly as squad players, but I don't think any of them represent the level of player we are going to need to push on and achieve our ambitions.
Surprised with some of the players released. Thought Noel Hunt could of done a job for Reading next year too, guaranteed at least ten goals.
There are some big names in that list, surprised Fulham have released Mark Schwarzer (i'm guessing it was his decision as oppose to the club's because of Stekelenburg's arrival). Despite this, there's not a single player in there that appeals to me when it comes to summer signings for us.
I took a lot of stick for suggesting he would be worth a punt in a free, about three months back. He is still young ish, strong, works like a Trojan, a good touch and I am sure Rickie could help him with his finishing. Doubt wages would be daft either, so for me he's be worth a punt. Ideally I'd like us to be bringing in a goal scoring striker, but would understand Di Santos on a free.
James Shea from Arsenal, remember him? Realistically (as we won't get Toure or Malouda): I'd take Hitzlsperger if we could keep him fit. Benayoun. Baird's probably a little too old, sadly. Danny Simpson for Clyne's back-up. Di Santo.
I know the thread is about who we might take but I think all Championship sides should be falling over themselves in the rush to get Simeon Jackson from Norwich. When he was in the championship he scored plenty of goals reminding me of our own Billy Sharp (his scoring record and NOT his pace though!)
