Looks like this is the home shirt for next season. Sure to raise some eyebrows! New sponsor is 138.com (never heard of the myself).
Here's a video from the new kit sponsors...
Im sorry but: 1) It does not look like a Watford fc shirt, remove our badge and you wouldn't know it's supposed to be our kit. Too much like a Dortmund top not WFC. 2) Waaaay to much Black. Black shorts - yes, but the top should be 95% yellow with black and red trim. If the letters and numbers on the back are red then at least that would make it a more acceptable, but it'll prob be black.
Well I hope there are red shorts. To me our yellow, red and black( in that order) is one of the best strips in the four divisions especially under lights. Red is a lucky colour for the far east so I hope more of it is included. Difficult to judge when we only see the top half of the shirt. I hope it doesn't turn out to just be yellow and black with only a token bit of red. I wonder if the designers find out anything about the history and atmosphere of a club before they design a shirt.
I have a feeling the shorts and socks will be either yellow or black. The kit is apparently being revealed on the clubs website later today.
I like the shirt, but not so much the sponsor - but if they are paying a decent amount and it covers a couple of players wage for the season, then I'm not going to complain! I'd like red shorts with it, but again, can't say I am overly fussed and get the feeling with so much black on the shirt, the shorts will be black too... As long as they're not yellow shorts, but in a different shade of yellow...
No doubt money talks but I can't say I'm happy about a gambling site as sponsor. I used to bore non-football friends with the notion that the Premier League had lost sight of real football fans in the rush for money. Championship has less cash but the priorities are probably the same. Funny, but I think what will eventually stop me attending (health and age aside) is not the football itself but the feeling my values and those of the professional sport have drifted far enough apart to be uncomfortable. We like to think our own club is different, superior even, but that's not perhaps the real world. And if that sounds a bit gloomy, I should be watching cricket in the sunshine and Hampshire appears to be the only place in England where thunder, lightning and steady rain are the order of the day.
I don't really mind a bookmakers sponsoring us. I didn't object to playing in the Carling Cup (if you can call that beer). However, if I am buying a replica shirt and if I am going to wear that shirt, I have to be happy being a walking billboard for whatever is on that shirt. I don't know that I want to be a walking advert for a random far-eastern gambling company based in the Isle of Man, so I won't buy the shirt. Having said that, I know a few young men whose relationships have been damaged by Football Manager!
As a neutral on this I will not comment on the sponsor but I will say that I am fed up with all these gambling sites in general. They are obviously making a fortune while addicts are getting themselves into debt. It seems you cannot watch any adverts on telly without hearing from one of them. And rich people like Barbara Windsor advertising for them is really annoying. About time the government did something about it but they are obviously earning money themselves in tax.
Black shorts, yellow socks. I think I quite like it actually... also... "And completing a terrific treble, the Football Manager logo will appear on the back of the Hornets’ kit after Sports Interactive & SEGA agreed to an extension from last year to remain as a key Official Partner of the club."
It is black shorts/yellow socks; http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/130607-hornets-2013-14-treble-857914.aspx I actually still like it as a whole kit! The only thing I don't really like is the lack of red... especially on the badge It will also have a Football Manager logo on the back!
