http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2013/may/30/floyd-mayweather-saul-canelo-alvarez-fight It's ON! The only fight that would be more exciting than Money vs Pacman is on for September I think Mayweather will edge it on points, but it will be absolutely fascinating to watch it unfold...
I'm not sure how many real challenges there are left for MM if he beats SA. Who hasn't he fought? Khan? I think Floyd would win against Amir but I'd still like to see the fight all the same.
Mayweather has to play as well as he's ever done otherwise I really think Alvarez will do it, and I'd really ****ing like him to. I just posted a ****e fail thread that apparently Khan will get Mayweather if he wins next fight. Mayweather would absolutely batter him.
I think Khan would suit fighting Mayweather - I don't think Floyd has enough punch-power or aggression to trouble Khan's chin.
PBF is not getting younger and the ginger one has the power and speed to win..but class is permanent. I see Money schooling another pretender in a cracker of a fight. Really excited with this match up
please log in to view this image Can't wait for this. Still waiting to see who's going to be showing it in the UK. Heard a whisper that if BoxNation get it, they could make it a PPV event, on top of the tenner a month subscription that it already is. Was checking ticket prices a couple of days ago (more in wishful thinking than a genuine interest) and the cheapest ticket, up in the gods was $900 or so. The most expensive was nearly $30,000
Would like to see Canelo smother him from the get-go. Might have to take a few right hands coming in but if he can get close and unload on the body to slow Mayweather down. Wouldn't hurt to throw some wild swings once close too. The likes of Guerrero and Cotto were trying to be too precise in their work whilst trying to tag him. His defense is too good for that. He moves his head too well to get caught with a "conventional" punch, if Canelo can catch him with a wild one he can seriously hurt him.
Nah if canelo goes in wild against floyd hell be tagged, frustratd and game over. I can only see him getting joy against the ropes and bodyshots and hoping money gets an off day, which we know doesn't happen. I'm a big mayweather fan mind so showing bias obviously, can't wait for the fight though, canelo is definitely dangerous. Strong fighter to say the least.
I don't mean wild as in leaving himself open ready for the counter, that would be suicidal against Mayweather, but not to be too precise all the time. Don't be afraid of taking a gamble when in close and throwing where you think he'll roll his head to, instead of just aiming for it straight in front. But yeah I agree the key is working the body. That's where Del La Hoya and Castillo had so much success. He'll be 36 come fight night, against the strongest, most aggressive fighter he's fought in years, possibly ever. And he broke his hand in the Guerrero fight, if that goes early in this fight he'll have serious trouble holding Canelo off. Canelo will be at least 170 lbs when he steps in the ring, bully him early and batter the body. Would love to see him pull it off and I think he can.
I just think Mayweather has too much experience. Physically, there's not a great deal in it fitness-wise. Can just see MM being too slippery and clever. But that's why we love this fight, coz you just never know.
Mayweather has too much craft he knows how not to get hit whilst picking off opponents such as Alvarez.
Yeah I should have got the gist what you were saying. I think alvarez will have to have the perfexct fight and yeah with that he's gonna need that touch of luck as well just to have a chance with floyd. He will have to step up his activity as well I don think he's the type to stay on his opponent but he will just need to really use that power. In saying that I'm rooting for money all the way I absolutely adore his style, the fact he has his old man in thjecorner will be a massive plus as well.can't wait.
