    No from me like

CELTIC striker Gary Hooper has again been linked with a move to Sunderland.

Hooper has been rumored to have been on Sunderland’s radar for much of the last year, stretching back to Martin O’Neill’s tenure at the Stadium of Light.

The 25-year-old only has a year left on his Celtic contract and reports today suggest that could see Sunderland, Norwich, Hull and Southampton make a move for the frontman.

Paolo Di Canio is known to be keen on strengthening his striking options this summer after Sunderland’s struggles in the final third last season.

But the Black Cats are unlikely to shell out the £7million fee being mooted for Hooper.

Sunderland have been concentrating their efforts this summer on value-for-money signings from the Continent and are unlikely to splash out such a fee on a player entering the final 12 months of his contract.

7mil is a bit steep for me like. Better value to be had elsewhere. 3/4mil then I would say it was decent value.

7m is a good price for the lad imo or we could snap him up for say 2m in january. If we get most of our money back for graham it would work out canny...

Never seen him play really, just his finishing (which seems good) but not seen a whole game.

Someone will take a punt on him this summer but probably the newly promoted clubs, I would swap DG and a few million for him though.

Would be a gamble as he only played championship football in England. May be a similar player to stokes. Whos ability lies playing SPL football. I think we need a little bit more quality, no disrespect meant to SPL or Celtic. But the step up from SPL to Premier League is similar to moving from Championship to PL, and there aint many who have done so

You cannot judge any Scottish player playing in the Scottish premier league. apart from say Samaras. Look what happened to Tore andre flo, a Rangers reserve player. Even Graham would score 20 goals a season there !.

I wouldn't mind us trying to Sign Hooper he has scored goals in all leagues he has played in & doesn't seem a bad player. But If I was given a choice I would rather try and sign Charlie Austin from Burnley we could get him for 4-5m which IMO is a better gamble than 7m for Hooper.

If we can sell Graham & sign Austin & then sign Lukaku on loan for a season I would be happy.

Fletcher, Austin, Lukaku & Wickham to choose from next season would be canny.

I reckon you are right here - I think DG would get 20+ goals in the SPL and we all know what he has done for us. I think there is better value to be had.

this was the basis of somebody we had recently who was at celtic, any stats and such like should not be taken any notice of , any move to celtic is a cry for help or money based, make no mistake , who has not won anything or failed to score etc for celtic, should not be accepted on a cv.
spl flick a coin who will win it up until now celtic or rangers. i blame oneil

<doh> Typical EPL fan arrogance! Hooper has played 18n times in Europe and scored 7 goals - that includes Europa League and Champions League. better than Graham and Fletcher ...

and he's only 25.I'd rather keep him at Celtic as he has the best years ahead of him but eh will be sold for £4/5min - max.
