Working in Westminster I see all manner of protests and demos outside the Houses of Parliament on my way home from work. For the last couple of weeks there's been demos against gay marriages and what you notice is that it's a collection of Afro Carribean christians and a cabal of white people who, I would suspect, all pen pompous letters to the mail or Telegraph. They all seem to be very angry and the banners have very witty slogans like "you'll burn in hell" or "marriage is for a man and woman - not for disgusting perverts." they just stood there shouting Tonight as i was strolling home it was the turn of the gay lobby. 40 or 50 people formed into a choir singing an absolutely delightful song and holding banners saying things like "I want to marry a woman - get over it". I don't really go in for protest, preferring to abuse people from the relative anonymity of a computer keyboard, and have no strong views on gay marriage either way. However, I know which of the two demos was nicer to witness. Anyone fancy forming a choir to sing songs in favour of kicking Merseyside out of the United Kingdom?
**** all that singing ****, can't we just drop a tactical nuclear warhead in the Albert Dock. That should take care of most of them. We could have a minutes silence a week later and forget about the whole thing within a month
It would take something really important to get me out on the streets protesting - bummers and strummers marrying doesn't come close.
If Christians started behaving like their bible says they're supposed to then I might listen to them for more than 5 minutes without wanting to laugh and/or kick their ****s in.
Not sure about forming a choir Dan but I have been thinking - in my role as winner of the week - that we could all get together and do a not606 single for charity...
Great idea. I think we could do the Rattler by Goodbye Mackenzie and give all the proceeds to Michael Douglas' throat cancer charity.
trying desperately to think of a song I can somehow work " wid ye " into....that would be the ultimate not606 anthem
Indeed Then again, Gambol as Gene Kelly and Tina as Debbie Reynolds - Jip, Gas and ER as the strings section and medro, toby and ST on the brass. Actually, no, i can't see it taking off.......
