Go for a swim in the sea, the colder the water the better - always works for me, the hangover is gone by the time you get back on dry land.

Also try a hair of the dog. The headache and nausea parts of hangovers are generally caused because your body is trying to break down poisonous elements within impure alcohol. Generally the darker the alcohol (whisky, brandy, rum, beer, red wine etc) the closer it is to the impure type methanol. The cleaner/purer types of alcohol like vodka are closer to pure alcohol known as ethanol (which is largely free from impurities). The body breaks methanol and ethanol down slightly differently. If you have vodka as a hair of the dog the body will make the switch and your symptoms should lessen. The methanol impurities will then be broken down more slowly over a longer period of time and with less pain for you. That is my memory of an explanation from an article in "The Scientist" magazine from a few years ago. This works for me too <ok> :)

Edit: Oh yeah and happy birthday fella, have a good one <ok> :)
