After a night out in Neath when I was a mere boy we used to go to the Taj (I think it was) in Windsor Rd for an end of evening curry and I am sure I saw a wagging tail on more than one occasion :)

I live not far from the George (I think we may have discussed this before) but I'd never had gone there until a couple of weeks ago. I knew it would be tidy as I'm friendly with the owner (who also happens to be a Jack season ticket holder) as he used to run my old local, where the food was fantastic.
The food in the George though was on a different level, best steak I've ever eaten and proper chips that you don't seem to get in many places any more

Terror, have to agree....Evans pies are the best in the land, SIMPLES!

First time I ever went to London, I was 9. We went to a chippy near Crystal Palace and I asked for Evans pie and chips. They looked at me as if I had 2 heads and my team mates and coaches all pissed themselves laughing (bastards!)

Best pies in Swansea are from Saunders bakery but they cannot lace the boots of Taibach's best product (steel and stench included)

Evan's Pies, WOW now you're talking. They used to be down by the railway bridge near the old Market in Old Aberavon before it was all demolished for the new town centre, then they moved to Taibach. Great pies. Day off today, I just had to pull the frier out and make fish and chips. Now after reading all these I wan't a pie now!
Sad to hear Dick Barton's is not how it was.

Apologies. I have found an establishment in Wales that is better than Evans Pies.

I've tried, and they are good, and the curry is something else!..............<cheers>

Dick Barton's down the Mumbles I've always found good, plus the Chippy in Skewen, used to be called the Ritz, not sure if it still is, but I have the Roma down my way, and not bad at all!..................<ok>
