Jager - if you read further down that pdf it does apply to bigger claims but if stumpy's research is right (and we all assume it is) then Laudrup really hasn't got much of a problem.
dont shoot the messenger i only copied and pasted what is reported in the football news yesterday....you would swear it was me who is accusing laudrup
It follows a long standing investigation into the transfers of Laudrup and the Georgian striker Shota Arveladze to Ajax in 1997 and allegations of irregular payments to the pair. Ajax reportedly agreed a settlement in 2005, including a €500,000 fine, with the public prosecutor to avoid tax evasion charges and paid around €5.8m to the Dutch tax authority, a sum later reduced on appeal last year. Ajax has been attempting to get money back from the two players. Two years ago they made a bid to seize Arveladze’s assets in the Netherlands. Laudrup was not immediately available for comment Who cares what happens....but if he is innocent then go to the court and prove it as he will have nothing to fear...If he dont then it will make people wonder if he is trying to hide something....simple..
Nobody has to prove innocence, Dai. But as Jager pointed out it isn't a criminal matter. Read stumpy's post again. Looks like this is going nowhere.
Yet in post 2 you said "he would be getting a battering!" Dai, (or is this Pedro?) last time I saw backtracking like that was Michael Jackson's moonwalk.
Hasn't the guilt already been laid at Ajaxs' door? Ajax are now pursuing a civil claim against Laudrup because they, as the employer, are duty bound to pay the tax on behalf of Laurup to the tax authorities, so they are well within their rights to recover the money from Laudrup. He's probably already told them to sling their hook and now they are taking it to civil court. Personally I think there will be an out of court settlement.
