I couldn't agree more. I'm so glad I was there to witness his performance against Man City (as it happens in the seat next to our Stan), he was peerless that night.
I saw some poor site mention he was going for £5m, let's hope so but realistically any money would be a bonus.
It was surreal when Brazil were playing a few months ago and they kept referring to the QPR goalie. Suspect will be a while before we hear that again.
So he might be the first to go. It's gonna be a sad summer as our superstar players depart one by one.
I'm more excited about the rebuild. As much as it was amazing, at the time, to sign players like Cesar, it just ain't really us. I want to get back to uncovering gems. I was at that England v brazil game and was confusing people with my Cesar Cesar Cesars.
Superstars who turn out to be superflops.... Im glad to see Cesar go because he was one of them althought he played couple good matches too.
That's how I feel on Cesar too, mixed opinions. Yes, he had some really decent games. But he had some bad ones too. I'm not surprised he's first out the door. I don't think he ever really warmed to the club or the fans. I don't think I saw any interaction with the fans at Loftus Road. None whatsoever.
Not quite so sure, Dave ....................At the moment, we seem to be in limbo with not much happening either way. Yes, he is a good goalkeeper but his heart is not with QPR and I'm thinking we need to rid ourselves of all such players, both in costs and their attitudes. If it is true that he's going, I hope there is a rush on with the others. As soon as 'the dollar boys' are gone, the sooner we can rebuild and move forward ( hate using that term, sounds like our politicians ) .... anyway, these are just my thoughts.
I'm not saying its a sad summer because the 'superstars' are going...personally I can't wait to see the back of them. It's a sad summer because the dream is being taken apart. The dream that these players might come and capture the essence and heart of our small club, and help it to flourish. Instead they've seen, they've taken (££££££), and now they are disappearing. That's why I find it sad. I'd love to go back to the days of QPR being a way up for unheard of gems from near and far, who play for the badge and would stick at it through thick and thin.
Realism begins. Big stars move on. Cesar is on record as saying he owes QPR for bringing him back into the spotlight and resurrecting his career. His performances were a mixed bag (his punching/pushing of the ball really got to me), but then so were everyone else's performances. Sorry to see him go in one way - but it's inevitable and realistic. Hopefully rumours of £5m are true (he is on 4-year contract) and we can put some money back in the kitty. Now then, can we get Boswinga of to Stoke????
Good, bollocks to him. World-class when it suited him and park standard when it didn't. He may have saved us some points at times but his pathetic attempts at Villa were a big turning point in our season IMO.
But then if we have top facilities and play our youngsters, the club can point to players like Bostock who went to spurs and has just been released. Saints managed to keep hold of Bale, AOC and Walcott until they signed pro contracts.
Cesar was our best goalie last season, so now Greeno needs to step up full time now. Like I said he was OUR best goalie, but he was lost on corners and found wanting at free kicks, especially just outside the box, a la Wigans equaliser. That said, Cesar did make some fantastic saves, and made some look fantastic. But now it's Greeno time. I think Greno will do well in the champs. COYRsssssssss
