Didn't realise Gomez is only 27, seeing as Mandzukic is 1st choice and they are looking at Lewandowski why not bid for Gomez. He is pretty much inbetween the level of Cavani and Falcao and the like of Villa, Higuain and Jovetic (are likely targets). He certainly won't come cheap 25mn odd and a salary of 150k (possibly more) but he would be perfect in the Statment Signing bracket as well as World Class Striker one. For whatever reason the world and their grandmother is being linked to him even though he is quality. Why Not?

The problem with Gomez is that aside from goalscoring, he offers nothing else at all. Bayern are noticeably better when Mandzukic is playing instead
I agree with that, but I should state that Fabregas is in a completely different class to the other 2. I can't believe Wanyama is being talked about at 25M. He isn't even worth 5. And we don't offer our own over 30s long term contracts, why the hell would we sign Villa. The only way he would come to us is on a free, with a one or two year deal.
Gomez is an amazing poacher but to get the most out of him you have to play someone just behind him. He's a modern day Linekar - great finisher, average at everything else. He's like the exact opposite of Chamakh. He's also massively underated and always has been. At every level he has played his goals to games ratio has been great - sayiong all this though I dont think he would suite our style at all. He would do very well for Chelsea.
Rumour that we've signed Julio Cesar on a two year contract.I have no idea how reliable this source is http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/europa/qpr-scatto-arsenal-per-julio-cesar-453085
He is not a bad addition, someone who is willing to be 2nd choice is hard to find and he will provide competition for Sczcesney.
Another report on us signing Cesar http://hereisthecity.com/2013/05/31/arsenal-to-clinch-julio-cesar-signing-report/
If I were you, I'd be looking at getting in a proper class player to improve on what you've got, rather than paying big wages for an average player who'll hardly play. He's a mustard shot stopper but also a proper liability.

With a better defence in front of him he will do much better. If you have got him I would be surprised if he was 2nd choice.
