We need to keep Cisse. But I hear there's Russian interest in Tiote. Bite their bastard hands off.

Ordinarily I'd say take it, great deal for all parties... BUT

There's just no guarantees under this regime that money coming in for players gets totally reinvested (net) on new recruits, none whatsoever.

Should we be stripping our squad of personnel? No chance if we're looking to build and where would we be without Cisse's fairly average goal return this year?

    Answer: The Championship.

If it was 18m pounds and not euros then I'd accept it.

If there's any substance, this will happen. Do you think we could con them into a twofer £50m and throw Tiote in?

Take it take it take it.

He is nowhere near an £18m striker.

Plenty time to get more bodies in, plus the extra funding, which perhaps can lead to you going after better players.

We don't even want to entertain any offers for Cisse until we have signed a replacement. It would be ****ing madness. So I expect we'll sell him, then hope to get one of our targets 'over the line' .....

Without his late goals we'd be in the Championship now. Pardew's use of him is at fault 'cause over the past 12 months months he's proved he can get goals out of nothing. We need to be getting him a partner not sell him.

Can't be selling him when we haven't even signed the first of the two strikers we already need. Can anyone really see us signing 3 new strikers (decent ones) this summer if we sold Cisse? I seriously doubt we would, even if he fetched good money.

Andy Carroll or Charlie Austin for a target man and 2 odJordan Rhodes, Gary Hooper, Tom Ince or Siem Dejong to play alongside/off the target man.

We can do this with the Cisse money.

If we opted for Austin we could get more, Andy would obviously cost more. Would it be worth paying £14m for Andy with his Prem experience and his being from the academy and a thorough bred Geordie or spend 9 or £10m less for Charlie Austin or even a cheaper option, Gary Madine from Sheffield Wednesday. Pro's and cons must be weighed up because the club needs a few outs and plenty of ins.

I agree. Like I say we'd get 2 and be told "well we said we wanted 2". Pardew left looking silly and Mike chortling away.

I see the logic that the money could potentially be well used to strengthen but I just dont want to sell coz I like him too much. I reckob get the right players round him and we will see his quality again. He was having to do it on his own at times towards the end of last season.

No, no, no! Madine is **** - my brother is an Owl and have seen them lots over last few seasons and he is static! I'm not one of these people who thinks we must get local talent - we get the best available to us and we have the best available to us already! Instead of looking to sell hiim we should be looking for a player to complement him in attack and then a back up. If we sell Cisse, given agents fees, we would not even get a like for like replacement. So we are already down on quality. Then we will have the same amount of money to get a partner as we currently have! I would like to have Carroll and Austin/Rhodes but them two together would cost about £20M. If we sell Cisse we then need to spend another £12-15M.

For all of those criticising Pardew and he is fully to blame then we should not be looking to cash in one of our better assets. We should be looking at Tiote (seeing as we already have Anita and Bigi) and that can then refurbish players. Getting Jonas off the wage bill would also help

There's a photo on our board, of Cisse at the Village Hotel in Hull last night.

He's obviously not there for talks with us and the only place you pass through Hull to get to is Rotterdam, has he got a fear of flying or something?

I would only sanction this sale if we could confirm the purchase of Andy Carroll.

It's all under my control don't you know...

He was played as a striker for halfa year and scored 11 goals in that half season, in a team that was doing poorly. He is a 20 goal a season striker.

Increase the bid to the low 20's and I would be happy to either sell for that price or not, assuming of course that we have two senior strikers lined up to come in.
