If CH continues to play one lone striker surely he should be giving serious thought to wingers and mid-field who can score regularly as back-up to RVW? Snodgrass seems to be in this category, but not sure about Pilkington or Bennett? Of the mid-field, only Hoolahan and more recently Howson could claim to be goal scorers although neither is in the regular category. I would like to see at least one goal scoring winger to give Pilkington competition and one attacking mid-field (in the Lampard mold) plus one more striker. Not sure of Becchio's future (and Holt's?). If either or both go we might even need two extra strikers?
diego capel would be a superb signing, and the added bonus that he's already on the same wavelength as RvW. doubt we'd get him but i wouldn't be surprised to see us linked to him at some point.
Could be genuine interest - Lambert may see him as someone to slot in should Benteke leave and the same for Celtic and Hooper. Sunderland are short of fire power and Newcastle too reliant on Cisse maybe ? I could see Austin attracting quite a few suitors to be fair.
don't know about villa but i've certainly heard austin is celtic's preferred option when hooper leaves.
Add this too the Hooper story http://www.scotsman.com/sport/footb...389?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
What do people think about Aiden Mcgeady? Last year of his contract, looked good against England. Can play on either wing. Would expect a fee to be around 5-8 million. (No official rumour, just a thought)
I think he'd be a great signing. If he still has a year left on his contract, we may have to part with a bit more than £8m and given that he is at Spartak Moscow his wages may be prohibitive.
Could that be the striker James Nursey indicated today and to be reported tomorrow? Bit of a shock if it is!
shane long was the guy i wanted us to sign the summer we came up. we ended up with morison. really can't see why west brom would sell though, especially given they lose lukaku next season too.
Yes, I was hoping we'd try to sign either him or Danny Graham when we won promotion. Morison scored some great goals - I was right behind the goal when he got the winner at the Hawthorns!
James Nursey ‏@JamesNursey 10h Told #NCFC going all out for Celtic Hooper this summer. Given they put in multiple bids in Jan & failed, surely City will now get their man
I really do think that's just a rehash of a story and he hopes it comes off so he can take all the plaudits.
