Dan Harding is one of the worst players I have had the misfortune of watching, he is truly useless. However, he only ever gave his best and always gave 100%, he was just shiete... I don't get all this "they all give 100%" nonsense. If that includes Gaston then we need a refund. If he gives 100% every game, then my cocks a carrot.
Yes, good point. When I was 17 I played RB for Soton Colleges in the Wednesday league - we played for Woolston Wednesday (if I remember right), who had John Sydenham on the LW. He must`ve been 40-odd - I thought he was ancient. Needless to say he made a complete tit of me all afternoon, and the closest I got to him was when I shook his hand at the end of the game.
I don't think you can include Chaplow in that sentence. Up until he got injured at Bristol he was our best performer. We were a far better side before that game than we were after it.
I thought it was just me who noticed that. As a player, I actually rated him. Remember that although we splashed the cash on Fox, Adkins never dropped Harding to put him in. He only played after Harding got injured. I think people remember when he played on the right a few times, less than impressive. As a left back though, he was quite effective and certainly one of our better players at the time. True, I don't think he would ever be Premier League standard but he was good for us at the level he played.
Very good in L1. Who do you suggest we bought when we were there to play LB, a prem quality defender? Really? People forget that even in the lower divisions they are professional athletes. A league 1 player is a good footballer, a championship footballer is an excellent player and a premiership player = world class. I am generalising of course but Harding is only 'shiete' by comparrisson when he stepped up to NPC.
One of the main things I noticed having played against ex-pros a few times was just how physical they were. When they went into a tackle or up for a header, you certainly knew about it.
In my early twenties, I played in an informal game against a side which included a 17/18 year Saints player. He tackled me at one point and it was like being cut in half. I was doing my usual routine of making the opposition fullback look stupid and he decided to remind me what defending was all about. I don't remember it even being a foul.
So because you met him you know him better than i do? i dont see why you're getting your knickers in such a twist he was an awful player and i personally thought he didnt care much about this club
He did a good job for us. I admit he struggled badly at right back when he filled in there a few times. He was good at left back.
Over 3 seasons its difficult, obvs Tommy Forecast who is an embarassment to the club especially considering he was part of the G Bale deal. If it wasnt for this season then surely Puncheon would be a contender. De Ridder has also been pretty useless but has only been with us for 2 seasons. Has Seaborne been 3 seasons? If so he also seems a bit of a waste of time...
It is rather pathetic that we feel the need to bitch about players that have brought the club unprecedented success, congrats guys.
Oh **** i forgot about Seaborne he was pretty awful too. Watch now everyone defend him because he got the **** kicked out of him. Should Ostembor be up there aswell?
Seaborne was awful, but he can't be accused of not pulling his weight, as he did give his best to the team.
Just a reminder for those with short memories...
Thanks for that. I've always rated Guly...not his fault he hasn't been played in his best position for some time. Mauricio seems to rate him, but almost like a utility player from the bench. Not going to get many goals like that.
