I would take Noble from West Ham that's all from youre list Sgt. We NEED a decent midfield and without that, we will again be found wanting.
K.J. and Super Jon both double figures goal wise and I reakon we should build on those two. Carew I'm not sure but Jerome YOU are Kidding T.P.?
We can, like Nick say's do a lot better because they won't be squad player's as such. With Europa footie starting on July 28th we need too get
it sorted Tony please. Don't dilly dally around. IF they are out there and available go get em!

I wish I could spend some of Mr Coate's Money <biggrin>

How about Hitzlsperger Potts? He's cracking player in my opinion. David Vaughan is another that would improve it, and as you say Noble. As for strikers, we need someone like Demba Ba, and someone like Agbonlahor, who looks like he's leaving Villa.

Carlton Cole always looked islolated for the WHU little support and he looked deflated at times. If TP can get the right price then he could be a good asset.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis is reportedly ready to test West Ham's resolve with a £3.5million bid for long-term strike target Carlton Cole.

Pulis has attempted to lure Cole to Stoke on a number of occassions over the past couple of seasons but West Ham have, until now at least, always resisted the Potters' approaches.

However, the Hammers are looking to trim their squad following their relegation from the Premier League and, as one of the top earners at Upton Park, Cole is expected to move on this summer.

West Ham are said to value the England international at close to £9million but the East Londoners are unlikely to receive a fee that high and, according to the Mail on Sunday, Pulis is ready to start the bidding at £3.5million.

Cole scored just five goals in the Premier League last season but the 27-year-old reached double figures in each of the two previous campaigns with a strike ratio of better than one in three.

Pulis is looking for a forward with that sort of record having seemingly opted against offering John Carew a permanent contract at the Britannia Stadium.

Pulis is also likely to make a fresh approach for Birmingham's Cameron Jerome after failing with a move in January.

The 23-year-old managed only three goals in the Premier League as Blues were relegated but scored 11 the season before and, like Cole, could be available at a cut-price.

I really hope we dont sign Jerome of Cole, both are poor players and there is talk of Cole costing £8 million. If we pay that we want shooting. Its so obvious to me anyway, sign Demba Ba he would be a massive addition to stoke city and would probably cost £2 million less. For all other players I would be looking abroad because players in England are a rip off!!!!!.

Hitzlsperger would also IMO be a great addition to the team.

Sebastian Larsson's agent expects the midfielder to make a decision on his future by the second week of June.

The Sweden international is a free agent after leaving Birmingham City following the Carling Cup winners' relegation from the Premier League.

He is being tracked by several top-flight clubs, with reports suggesting Sunderland, Newcastle United, Blackburn Roversand Stoke City have made offers.

Skysports.com revealed earlier in May that Sunderland are leading the chase for the 25-year-old after Black Cats boss Steve Bruce signed Larsson during his time in charge at Birmingham.

Larsson is currently away on international duty and his representative Per Jonsson acknowledged the player enjoyed his time working with Bruce at St Andrew's.

    Good relationship

"Seb has a few offers from some good clubs that we are looking into at the moment," Jonsson told the Sunderland Echo. "He will need a few weeks to consider his future.

"We have the international games coming up. Sweden have got two qualifiers for the European Championships so Seb and the other players have to have their concentration on them.

"But after those games, we will be sorting out his future pretty quickly. By the first or second week in June, everything should be sorted out.

"There have been four clubs from the Premier League who have made approaches. There is no problem finding a club in this case. The problem is sorting out which club it is.

"Obviously Seb has got a good relationship with Steve Bruce and Eric Black (Sunderland assistant manager).

"Steve was the manager at Birmingham before and took him to Birmingham and he made his breakthrough under him there. You can see they have a good relationship from that."

National Team Goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen confirms that Stoke will keep him at the club for another year.

Thomas Sorensen is just reserve goalkeeper in England Stoke, but anyway, the Danish national team banquets find themselves in that he is also in next season should be at the club.

He confirms, after several months of speculation that Stoke have chosen to use the option they have on him, so the experienced goalkeeper to become the club.

    - Actually, we're talking now about whether we should extend the contract beyond next season.

    - I've been told that I start on equal footing with the other when next season starts, "says Thomas Sorensen with regard to Asmir Begovic, who is the first goalkeeper.

Dane is not sure whether the announcement from the club will hold true when starting up for next season begins after the summer break.

    - I also know how people are talking in football, so it's a little unclear if this indeed is so, says Thomas Sorensen.

He makes it clear that another season on the bench is not something he wants. So Thomas Sorensen continues to hope that the club will release him if he ends up as a reserve.

British media reported that Chelsea have offered rival Begovic, and it is also a situation that Thomas Sorensen follows.

    - They offered some to him and made the switch, do it maybe the situation more clear to me. But it's not something I can go and put my money on. Buy him, so they buy him. But I do not even know if Stoke want to sell him.

    - It would certainly not last summer but of course it's also something I need to hear about the club, because I would like to know if they're confident they'll keep him, explains Thomas Sorensen.

In the spring, he has only been playing in the FA Cup, where he has been firm and it has gone well. Stoke played himself right up to the finals, where it turned into a defeat to Manchester City.

Thomas Sorensen is by all accounts from the start, when Denmark Saturday meetings Island Away in the European Championship qualifying.

I would go for a L/B, for me steven warnock! him and houllier have fallen out and he could give higgy a run for his money in the first team!
2x C/M someone like noble, hitzelsperger, vaughan or try and to get cleverley off manutd since pulis and AF have a good link.
Cover for the wings, victor obinna i would go for here, he has pace, strength and can play on either wing or upfront!
And a couple of strikers, with pace. Like agbonlahor, dj campbell.

Stoke City chairman Peter Coates has dismissed newspaper reports that the FA Cup finalists have made a bid for West Ham United striker Carlton Cole.
It was claimed that the Potters had made a club record £9m offer for the 27-year-old England international.
"Those reports are unfounded and it is not the case whatsoever," Coates told BBC Radio Stoke. "We've not made a single bid in any way, shape or form."
It is the second consecutive summer that Stoke have been linked with Cole.
Speaking in August 2010, after reportedly making an offer for the striker, manager Tony Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke: "There's no truth in it at all. They've got to fill their papers and fill their television programmes."
Former Chelsea trainee Cole is one of a number of players expected to leave Upton Park in the summer, following the Hammers' relegation from the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Coates has also said Stoke will not be making an offer for Blackpool's sought-after captain Charlie Adam.
The Scotland international midfielder is set to leave Bloomfield Road after a stand-out season in the Premier League with the Seasiders, in which he scored 13 goals in all competitions.
"I don't think the manager is interested in him," said the Stoke chairman. "He's not mentioned him to me so I assume he's not interested in him."

I'm glad we're not interested in Adam. He would not suit playing in the cage at all. He cannot tackle and he gives the ball away far too much in that area. Plus Coates didn't say we weren't interested in Cole did he? He just said we haven't bidded for him yet, I reckon we will eventually though.

I think the one that's got me most excited is the Agbonlahor rumour, I think he'd fit in perfectly, and not only that him and Walters are both good strikers, and good out wide if they are needed there.

Someone mentioned Cleverly too, I think he'd be a cracking player for us, and a couple of Man U fans I know reckon he'll probably go out on loan again, so we're in with a chance.
