@petejenson: Suarez agent has told me his comments are product of frustration: “He is fine at Liverpool but recent times have been tough for him” 1/2 @petejenson: 2/2 Says “There is nothing more in it” also makes point – player says it would be hard to turn down Barça/Madrid … normal really I love twitter. Contradicts itself faster than Nixon.
But also: @5timesco: Suarez's wife handed in her notice at the Gym, may be coincidental but also a small hint of what's going on in the Suarez household!
Bales agent says Real still an option http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/may/29/gareth-bale-tottenham-hotspur-real-madrid Hopefully true
What will be will be Fortunately, Coutinho is showing signs of being a fantastic playmaker in the number 10 role and he really stepped up to a higher gear when Suarez was banned. If he wants to go, drive a high price and let him go then build a team around Coutinho with the money. Basically just raid the Eredivisie for their players; Eriksen, Strootman, Mertens and Fischer could all be funded from a Suarez sale Flog Carroll and Skrtel, sign Papadopolous and another striker option and job done! This is entirely fantasty football, Strootman would never join
1) The club didn't protect Suarez the way it should have. Don't give me the "blah blah t-shirts" crap. That wasn't the issue. The issue is when sports "journalists" were attacking him, making snide remarks, pushing him out of the country, and so on, our Director of Communications was too busy threatening fans to step up and take some pressure off of the player. Strong worded press releases can silence some critics, naming and shaming specific journalists can shut them up a bit. We didn't do that. A lot of times we left him out to face the press when we shouldn't have (ie. Mansfield). 2) Despite this, the club has been more than good to him. He got a pay raise, a new contract, more attention, played in a preferred role, etc. We stood by him when his stupidity came to light, and we should expect the same. You are a footballer, man the **** up and forget about it. Play the game, win every week, and you will be fine. Had he not bitten someone, he'd have won the golden boot maybe. The fans sing his name and forget his actions because we love him. He needs to repay that. 3) 40m is a joke. That values him at only 2m better than Aguero, Shevchenko, Veron, Robinho, Rio etc. He's miles better than them (Aguero is good, but hasn't been getting that much better lately). I don't care if he's unhappy. He's one of the top players in the world. Top 5 at least, we can get more than 50 for him. Consider if we could milk 50 out of Chelsea for Torres, then we can milk at least 50 for Suarez from any club. If someone wants to offer 40m, then fine. Let them offer and reject them. 50+m or he's not leaving. Hold him to ransom, play him week in week out. I doubt he's a player that would refuse to play, he's not ungrateful to the club - just tired of the country. 4) Sturridge and Coutinho aren't enough for me to suddenly believe that Rodgers is some kind of talent scout. He's been wrong and right. And half of the alleged targets here are FM wonderkids or FIFA prodigies. Some are ok, some are average. We need to replace like for like. We can't afford to lose a world class player for an Andy Carroll type, who will take a year and half to start doing something useful. Also, why does it seem that the players with the best chants leave the club? We need to stop giving them catchy songs and start singing "Suarez-whoah" or something. It's only the ones with cracking chants that leave the club.
Been saying for months that Suarez leaving wouldn't be the end of the world so long as we get what we should for him and invest it wisely. Hell, if we sell him (£50m), Skrtel (£10m), Carroll (£12m), Coates (£4m), Assaidi (£3m), Downing (£6m) and Pepe (£15m) we could raise £100m and end up with £120m to spend this summer
Is this similar to Reina story that Sky have gone with where their headline is "Pepe Reina would relish the chance to join Barcelona" despite the only quote saying "Barcelona is a great club and it is difficult to say no to a club like Barcelona. But we are talking about assumptions and I should not do it." I'm not quite sure where they got reslih the chance from that quote Suarez was probably asked if Real came knocking would he go and to be honest 99% of our players would probably turn around and say, "I'd see what was on offer" and somhow that gets turned round into saying "blah blah would relish chance to move on...." BR has said he's not going anywhere, he's recently signed a new long term contract so the cards are stacked in our favour. If anyone wants him they'll have to come in with silly money. I don't think Suarez would be the type to sulk if the club didn't accept an offer, hell, might make him play even better to try and stay in the frame for a move the following season. I also remember him saying that he likes when the opposing crown boo him as it spurs him on more so guess you could say he should love it here as everyone else hates him and it will spur him on more!
If the family thing is accurate by the way...... why do the Spaniards settle better than the south americans? Tevez had trouble, Mascherno has had trouble, Kun Aguero now has trouble ( recently divorced I believe actualy)??? Probably talking ****e but is weird.
Well he forced a move to Ajax, we just have to see if our management have the balls to negotiate a ****tonne of cash from whoever wants him.
Media always want to catch our attention; What about these.? Luis Suarez: Liverpool striker would be interested in Real Madrid http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22712272 Tottenham's Gareth Bale is £80m target for Manchester United AND Manchester City AND Chelsea http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...-manchester-united-city-1920054#ixzz2UijDcU2J City and United to battle it out for Fabregas with Barca ready to let ex-Arsenal star leave http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ter-United-Manchester-City.html#ixzz2Uinwc8tx Newcastle and Liverpool to rekindle interest in Barcelona star? http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...iverpool-rekindle-interest-barcelona-star-198 Arsenal set sights on Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...et-sights-on-Liverpool-defender-Martin-Skrtel Marouane Fellaini insists his "destiny with Everton" amid Manchester United transfer talk http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...fers-marouane-fellaini-1920189?#ixzz2UiiELCwk Goes on and on. Cannot wait for he transfer market to be over.
So based on that... Madrid are ready to pay £80m for bale and £40m - £50m for Suarez This is the same Madrid that doesn't even have a manager yet, isn't it? Do me a favour
The thing is, we have to replace him well. For instance; Borini, Allen, Downing. It's all well and good having the money to buy new players and build a competitive team, but the money is only good if it's spent well. I'm hoping more for a Coutinho, Sturridge, Enrique trio, I think we all are
