Translated - Hes no loads of money that he will never get anywhere else. --- QPR winger Shaun Wright-Phillips has vowed to stay at Loftus Road and help them win promotion back to the Premier League. The former England star was restricted to just 22 appearances this season as Rangers were relegated to the Championship. Wright-Phillips was unable to play a part in the final two months of the campaign after going under the knife on a niggling ankle injury. However, the 31-year-old is on the road to recovery and is expected to be ready to return for the beginning of pre-season training. And Wright-Phillips, who has two years to run on his contract, has told family he wants to remain in W12. âShaun's doing okay,â said his brother, Bradley, who ended the campaign on loan at Brentford. âThe operation had to be done. The main thing is he will be fit and ready for next season. âWhen I spoke to him he said he loves it at QPR. He's got loads of friends there and still has two years left on his contract. He's happy there.â
That's good news. He tries, and if he doesn't lose his speed from his operation, his speed will be an asset again.
Does he have a wage relegation/reduction clause in his contract? If so, fine. If not then all this crap about helping the Rs gain promotion is pure bunkum.
This That's good news. He tries, and if he doesn't lose his speed from his operation, his speed will be an asset again. And this
I like SWP. He's going to be some threat in the NPC. Our squad is, individually, very talented but this is now a different ball game a tier down. However, with application, commitment, fitness levels and, dare I say it, pride, the group can do well next season. I do not foresee a wholesale clear out but a tweaking of the players who are unable to rise to the challenge; that's a big difference to those that can but do not feel motivated to do so. So, overall, I'd lose Ferdinand, get the deal done to ship off Barton permanently, have a serious word with Cesar, probably lose Bosingwa if Luke Young was looking good early doors, take a decent bid for Granero, make Taarabt captain again, say go ma sumi da to Park and bring in Townsend on another season, recall Cissé, buy Scott Parker and see where we are in January. Lets remember, ON PAPER, we have the makings of a very good squad. The NPC is different these days, and players like Taarabt will shine once more. No major signings for me, give 'Arry a full pre-season and the whole time until Jan and reassess. Back to topic, SWP is a decent player. We need to know how to play him.
Will be a good player for the NPC. Confidence is key with SWP, and I can see that flooding back now he's dropped down a division.
do you all have goldfish memories? he's scored 1 league goal in 2 fn years!! one of the worst players I've ever had the misfortune of watching. of course he's staying, no-one else would pay him the money he's on!
Hes a pub league player who is fast, thats it. He is the dumbest player Ive ever had the misfortune to watch, constantly turns into trouble and has 90% of his shots blocked.
I genuinely think he cares. When I watch him play I don't think he's a selfish git ala Bonsingwa. I'm not saying he's been amazing, but that he's tried. And to be honest, that puts him in my good books at the moment!
I think he will be a very good asset in the NPC. As said earlier, if he maintains his speed and has a good start in the early games then his confidence will be high.
TBH whilst don't think he's good for the Prem, I have a feeling he'll do a decent job in the Championship, obviously the negative is his wages but guess we're stuck with that.
Agreed, yes ........... he certainly gives off a caring attitude which is all good and dandy but one must confess that this player spends so much time achieving squat, burning up so much energy with little result that he leaves me frustrated just watching him but by jove, he does have a smashing, happy go lucky feel about him, doesn't he. Now that he's soon to be better and especially now that 'Joke from Stoke' has signed on as manager, one can only hope he takes him with him.
