Wanting the City lads to play is one thing, wanting the other team to beat your own is another.

But they're not playing for City.

If it was Hull City v England fair point but how any **** can want Ireland to win if they're English is beyond me.

All this game has reinforced for me is how fortunate a footballer Glen Johnson must be. Or does he have incriminating evidence against all the managers in football? Ive said it since his debut for West Ham and I still say it today, one of THE worst defenders I have ever seen play top class football. The fact that he is good going forward is meaningless - HE'S A DEFENDER.

What did the commentators say btw? I have to watch in silence.

He'd be better off in midfield, would like to see Kyle Walker have a run in that position, not sure if he's injured or what but he's more one for the future.

If England stopped tomorrow wouldn't bother me at all, city till I die and thats all that counts. We won't ever win anything again as a national team though its always fun watching

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you but I doubt you'll see City win anything either.

You'd struggle to make this up.

Fair enough but am not a die-hard enough England fan to really care about every two-bob friendly they might be staging for whatever reason

I've lived in England for 24 years and I always like to see them do well, as my country of birth, the Faroe Islands, are ****. We only ever beat teams like Liechtenstein and Andorra (although we did get a couple of results against Estonia and Austria recently, we are getting better - a couple of Faroese players play in England, Gunnar Neilsen (who was released by Man City recently) and Adrian Cieslewicz at Wrexham, not forgetting of course Claus Bech Jorgensen who was at Blackpool and our very own Julius Johnsson.

We usually lose to the bigger teams by a large margin (we lost 8-0 to Germany a few years back) but if the Faroes played England I'd cheer on the former. I can't tell you how proud I was when Gunnar Neilsen made his debut for Man City in the Premier League a couple of years ago. It's not glamorous by any means, but it's home. Although for a while we were better than Wales, which for us is a big deal, as we aren't ever better than anybody.

Maybe now that Gibraltar have been granted UEFA status, we can pan them instead.
