Why are Chester's wage demands a problem for Hull? Don't the HDM know that Hull are a Rugby team? ...or maybe you meant the dog fouling problem?
He's got 1 year left. If he's putting in for an above inflation pay rise then just keep him till the January window then get rid. Seriously, we can sort out the contract extensions to Rossy, Macca and Oxley now, plus any raising of conditions of existing contracts - (mainly Chester and Aluko) but the club can do it at their leisure.
There is no loyalty in football these days but the club should have a wage structure and he should be in line with it. But where else will he go? I don't see a queue of Premier League clubs forming. Surely he will take his chance to prove himself? Having said that he may see it as career suicide sustaining a relegation battle and believe he is better than that. No doubt his agent will be something to do with this. Give him a 10% increased offer on the table for one week, if he doesn't want it we can replace him.
Don't start spreading false rumours and lies about a player who has more than played his part in our promotion to the Premier League. If the club and his advisors cannot reach an agreement and he leaves then that is a professional matter it does not make him into the person you describe, which, as I say, he isn't in any case.
I think there are legs in this one. He doesn't want to be seen as an average defender and he probably doesn't believe he will do anything other than spend his evenings watching Hansen criticize him. It would be a small incremental step and possibly a mistake but I can see why he would go judging on how he appears to come across.
Lets not forget Chester is not being disloyal, he is not wanting to get out of his contract like Pearson did. It is the club that wants him to sign a new contract to extend his stay at the KC beyond next Summer. He is NOT being disloyal in asking for more money than the club are willing to pay. That is his right.
McShane was to be offered the terms he was previously on according to SB, and Chester is currently on about a sixth of that. Chester's been our best player for ages and yet somehow one of our lowest paid ones throughout that time. Adam Pearson said something along the lines of Chester's contract being far too small and that was over a year ago now. More than anyone else in the squad he deserves a large pay rise.
I don't even know what that means, to be honest. We've just cast off a raft of players because we did not think they were good enough for us. Why is he being judged by a different set of rules?
This exactly. Sums it up, If he thinks he is bigger than the club if he wants more money, thinks he proved himself in the Championship then we might have to let him go. What's the phrase... Heads turned?
I disagree strongly. He's in his last year of contract and he has the upper hand because he can force Hull to up his wages and keep him because if he says no and he has a good season in the premier league he will go for peanuts. The problem if we don't renew his contract/meet his wage demands; He doesn't perform in the premier league. Potential problem we have if we do renew his contract and meet his wage demands; If he plays poorly and if we was to go down we would be stuck with a high earner and no one will want him. What to do??
