Makes sure you get tanked up on Super Bok and Sagres. Went last summer and they're a nice drop. But don't touch their version of Sangria- they literally put everything in it. So it's basically a **** mix.

Thought Albufeira was a nice place to visit the strip and the other main night spot were class. The fit dutch birds helped as well.

Cheers - will bear it in mind. The stadium only holds 5000, should be chocka block with City fans :)

What had we done to qualify for that Chinese trip a few seasons back? Who's on it this year?

It's Man City, Spurs, Sunderland and South China FC this year and it's being played in Hong Kong.

I don't think you do anything to qualify, I think you just get invited.

Correct you do. 2 good PL seasons and it could be Hull City again. Played every 2 years. Next one is 2015.

2009 Asia Final was Tottenham Hotspur v. Hull City.

I'm sure it was something to do with early season form.

A pre-season tournament which you get invited to based on early season form?

    Are they psychic?

Super Bock is better than Sagres but still both very good. About the sangria is very good to drink at lunch <ok>

I seem to recall we got selected based on our position in the PL early on in our first season?

    The season before... :emoticon-0112-wonde

Can't remember where I heard that, and I don't know how well that applies to Tottenham and West Ham, but I definitely remember hearing it. Might have been something Brown or Duffen said at the time.

Apparently, it was the Chinese year of the Tiger.

Chinese year of the Tiger was 2010- unlucky for Hull City as they were relegated, so no pre-season trip to China that year I have been told.

i remember hearing this too , it was based on clubs positions at a particular time the season before, though we could have just heard the speculation at the same place :/

i was last their autumn 2011 and the beach was full of sharp shells , this was due to a Heavy storm in April that basically washed away the Beaches - they replaced the sand with dredges sand from the Med ' but it was pretty crap to walk on , i expect its ok now as there was a strange sight each day of hundereds of locals collecting the shells.

We stayed at the Hotel Aliosis (sp) great hotel right on the beach and a 3-5 min walk to the busy old town .... tho the beer monsters will want to be at the strip which is quite a way to the east (thankfully)

Apparently, it was indeed just the lead up to the year of the tiger...

Hull City chairman Paul Duffen told BBC Radio Humberside: "February sees the Chinese year of the Tiger so it's a wonderful fit."
