I see Laudrups agent has done a roundabout slaughtering of Mike Ashley's frugal approach to football! Ouch.

Difficult one this because there are some smashing managers lower down with good records. The lad at Exeter for instance Paul Tisdale. Did really well with Team Bath and then took Exeter from the conference to League 1. Been relegated since and consolidated this season in League 2. Obviously many fickle fans will say "yeah but he got relegated" but its all relative. Overall he has done a cracking job there. It depends on the constraints you're working under etc.

Laudrups has done quite but he has had his difficult times too, in Russia and struggling to get on with chairmen in Spain (mainly due to poor finances to be fair and sacking his assistant). Difficult to read really because he has only lasted a year or so in most places. Brondby is the only place he has spent any time. Obviously he did well there but you'd expect him to.

Getafe had a good season under him - managed a 42% win ratio which for a club like that was unheard of. Scored a lot and conceded a lot but they were good to watch. Took them to a cup final too. Mallorca was more of a struggle but he had to sell a lot of players. Obviously he has started well at Swansea and time will tell, particularly when we see how well he is backed by his chairman. He has bought really well so far, with Michu and Chico highlights.

His win ratio in Russia at a big club were as low as 28% and he got bulleted after 7 months or so such was how poor the results and football were. Mallorca was around the 30% mark too. Swansea around 36% but he has won a trophy!

Jury still out basically but his teams tend to play nice football. he has taken on a few challenges too and worked with some difficult bosses. Probably a good fit for us in that regard!
