    Just bought myself a ticket for the England v Italy game here in Tel Aviv, going to go wearing my City shirt and maybe I can somehow also get to Israel v England in Jerusalem

    England U21s haven't done too badly in recent international tournaments.

    It's all about getting them into the first team, as quick as Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Brazil etc do with theirs.

    The only way we can do that is to stop buying second rate foreign imports, and give the young kids a chance at higher level football.
    Obviously that won't happen because it would be the clubs finances that would suffer whilst the younger players developed.
    Club football has become more important financially, our National team will never progress as it once could have.

    The whole tournament is live on Sky for anybody interested. They've shown the last few and had good coverage of it to be fair.

    There is more football on this summer than I thought. First the FIFA Confederations Cup, now the U21 Euros.

    At least there is some footie available to keep my sanity intact.
