So glad they didn't come up.

Hope the football league stop the loop hole they have found then next year the bastards will be struggling to stay in the championship! :)

As much as I cannot stand Crystal palace for various reasons I'm just glad an honest team with British players young and old with a mixture have gone up.

Watfords plans was to use the loop hole, get in the premier league quick and throw millions in to stay up. So glad that this method has failed!

    COME ON YOU HULL.

I wanted Watford to go up, but to be honest, I'm happy for Palace (bar Holloway, he's an absolute arse) for those reasons you mentioned.

I'm especially glad for Delaney. The lad deserves it.

Can we stop the Watfraud ****e now. It wasn't funny to begin with.

Nobody would be complaining on here if we'd done the same.

I was going to post something similar about Watford but thought it a bit insensitive.... oh well :afro:

Im also very happy Watford haven't gone up because they have cheated to get into the position they are in. **** what the "current" rules say, it is cheating. To have an owner that owns more than one club is one thing, but to be allowed to send players for little or no money between their clubs is taking the absolute piss!

Nothing against the Watford fans or their manager but if they were hand on heart honest with themselves, they too know they've had a massive & unfair advantage this season. Would they have played attractive attacking football without their dodgy loan players? Where would they have finished in the league? Certainly not 3rd.

Would like to see the rules changed and Zola get them promoted next season playing beautiful football, but the right way..

I thought they had already changed the rules for next season to do exactly this?

You wouldn't have cared about this loan business if they'd been down the bottom of the championship.

I see nothing wrong with what they did.

City - Stockdale, Elmo, Fahti, Gedo, Boyd, Meyler (before we signed permanently), Brady (until we signed permanently)

That's quite a lot of loans.

Nothing will stop Watford, they'll just transfer them on permanent contracts for small fees instead.

Does anyone think City cheated? Getting into a financial mess and luckily finding someone willing to spend his money to get us out of it? It isn't against the rules, but it is unfair considering other clubs manage their finances properly. <whistle>

Didn't do nothing wrong? Quite rightly so only because the football league didn't know of the potential loop hole until Watfraud exposed it. The football league has now shut it.

If the football league didn't think watfraud was doing anything wrong then they would not have closed the loop hole, doesn't take a rocket scientist to work that out!

They didn't cheat, they utilised a loophole in the market. If it wasn't allowed they wouldn't have done it. If you follow Serie A, you'll see that this kind of thing happens all the time, clubs co-own players to avoid losing them completely.

As Catpain Blackudder said, had they finished 20th, nobody would've given a sod.

I didn't like the way Watford exploited the loan system but they didn't do anything illegal. I like Zola as a manager and they finished 3rd so one could say under the 'old rules' they deserved it the most.

I don't like Palace's diving theatrics to win penalties left, right and centre (but I suppose the one they won today was genuine). Holloway is highly annoying but it's also good to see Wilbraham and Delaney doing well. I've found their fans this season to be arrogant but at the same time a few seasons back I thought they were class at the KC in memory of the young City fan who tragically died travelling to Barnsley.

They're also both within the M25 circle so geographically neutral. In short, I've no idea who I'd prefer to have been promoted today. So congrats to Palace.

So you're happy that a team that has LITERALLY cheated their way to the playoffs with simulation, diving and more penalties in one season than most clubs see in 10 years has gone up?

I hope you're thrilled for them when we play them and we lose because they're a dirty cheating bunch of ****ers and I hope you like hearing Hollowheads justification of why they win games with their beautiful football every week too.

So Watford are cheats for using the loan system exactly as it's designed, but it's ok for Palace to sell a player to Man U but immediately get him back on loan for the rest of the season? Seriously?

Nothing wrong with that. Manchester United spotted talent, knew he was not ready for the step up so they bought him for the future and allowed him to stay at crystal palace which would have been part of the deal/transfer.

Grow a f*cking brain mate, it's nothing like what Watford have done. Most of you on here would have been p1ssed off if Watford went up automatically in place of us and you would of all been banging on about it all summer.

What Watford have done is morally wrong IMHO. You have teams scrapping and scraping, building for the future "some of which may have developed and grown over 3-4 seasons for a crack at promotion and then you have Watford who find a loop hole and exploit it.

I don't see a problem with what Watford did. They would have had to face up to losing nearly a full team if they went up which would have been hard. It's closed now as already mentioned so they can't do it again.

I agree with your first two points completely, I found it strange that despite playing with very tricky players (Boyd, Elmo, Brady, Aluko) we barely had any penalties at all. Palace seem to get them every other week.

However I will point out that when we bought Steven Mouyokolo, we loaned him back to USBCO for the rest of the season. It's quite common to buy players and loan them back to the club if they're young but influential to the season.

Wrong. If Watford had pipped us, apart from one or two gobshites, most would have just accepted it and moved on, myself included. I've consistently said I don't think Watford have done anything wrong, because, they haven't. You might think its "morally wrong" whatever the **** that means but that doesn't mean it is. The rules are there for exactly the normal reason rules are there, they did not break any, they did nothing wrong. Those rules might change, but it's not like they were bribing referees or cheating anything or anyone.

Palace on the other hand are masters at diving and conning the referee, if you think thats "morally acceptable" good for you, personally I think that is cheating, and it is something that the rules need sorting out over, so decisions like that can be reviewed after the game, and players banned for it.

Tommy, my 3rd point was attempting to show up the stupid inconsistencies with the loan cheating arguments which seem convenient to be agreeable to those calling Watford cheats.

Basically mate, what you're saying is both teams 'legally' cheated but in completely different ways? Which I agree with you on, hence my earlier ambivalent post.
