You're confused. I don't dislike the people in the royal family, I don't know them. I hate the concept of a royal family. To me it is shameful that we have one in this day and age. The line of our royalty is based upon families fighting wars for property and land. Well what would happen if me and 500 mates went down and tried to carry on this tradition? I can guarantee they wouldn't be so keen on it funnily enough. And how can you not take the words of the song literally? They're hardly cryptic. But those words advocate a royal family. I really don't get your point.
Precisely. They were just lucky that they employed violent, brutal tactics to steal other families houses at a different time. Someone who can read lyrics, amazing.
Have to agree. Our national anthem is a depressing dirge that would make more sense if we were bees than human beings. Jerusalem would be much better.
I don't understand anti-monarchists. The Royal Family are a part of the tradition and Culture of these Islands and the income they generate saves us money. I wouldn't want the job as a Royal, and I haven't seen anyone on here with skills required anyway but the main point is, those feeling it's a privelige by accident of birth are presumably going to hand in their assets to help redress the global imbalance that means anyone in the UK is wealthier than 90% of the rest of the people on the planet?
That shot just then, 'the goalkeeper's up to it' says the commentator. He sat on it after being nutmegged did't he?
Hope Palace go up, they may be diving ****ers but they are **** and don't have the buying power that Watford do, can't see us finishing below them
Erm no, because every single penny I have is through what I have earned, not donated by taxpayers. And then they've got the cheek to charge you to get into houses that WE own. How does that work? Seriously, nobody has ever explained to me why it costs to get into Windsor Castle. And I LOVE it when people justify the royal family by saying the bring in more money that they cost. That is NOT justification. Criminal gangs, drug pushers and the Mafia probably bring in more money than they cost, that doesn't make it right. And when you say 'skills required' do you mean not taking your art GCSE exam and instead getting the teacher to do and submit work in your name? Can you imagine the outcry if it was found out that some council estate kid was doing that? Or perhaps you refer to being given roles in the armed forces that you don't meet the minimum qualifications criteria for?
Yes, because all republics are started on a democratic basis. As DMD says, the Royals are good for the country. Tourists flock to this country give us their money by buying anything to do with the Royals. Plus, their charities are doing great work in this country and abroad.
