The way they bought Gotze was a disgrace. Announcing it before the final meant that he couldn't really play because of what his mentality might be like, essentially weakening Dortmund. Dicks.
They announced it before the 2nd leg of the Real Madrid game, that was the dickish move. Bayern didn't want a German final. Dortmund will be fine, they are already in talks to sign Christian Eriksen from Ajax to replace Gotze. I doubt they'll sell big, Gotze is only going because he had a release clause so Dortmund couldn't stand in his way.
2-1 Bayern/mandzukic score cast, draw h/t Bayern f/t, and Bayern over 1.5 team goals = me £392 in pocket. Thanks ladbrokes ill be spending your money with paddy next season
Got talking to a few Dortmund fans in London today so was rooting for them to win, bit of a sickener when that little **** Robben got the goal at the end
What a class goal it was though, jinked round god knows how many defenders, wrong footed the keeper then pulled it into the corner. Quality. I went ****ing berserk in the pub, everyone looked round at me proper gone out, til I told them I had the score cast on. Needless to say I was offered to buy a few rounds. Needless to say I told them to **** their little Leicester city arses and throw away their money on a Leicester promotion once again.
Not bad at all that. Saw Damien Delaney in Shepherds Bush on Thursday so am tempted to stick a little bet on him to score on Monday myself just for that reason.
Congratulations to all concerned players and fans alike for making this final a treat to watch. Fast and furious throughout with some neat passing moves that although didn't always come off it certainly kept the flow of the game swinging from one end of the pitch to the other.
As I worked for them I know they're not supposed to be stroppy or rude, or throw things in the trolley, but the speed at the till is part of the business model. Done properly it reduces the queueing time for everybody and allows staff to come off the tills to do other jobs in the shop. Even though the pay is really good (when I left 3 years ago ordinary staff were on £18k a year compared to not much above minimum wage at your Tescos and Asdas) it means the wage bill is really low. That and the not wasting time taking everything out of cases to put it on the shelf and other things about the way they operate to minimise costs reduces the markup they have to put on their prices and makes it cheaper for customers to buy. We were allowed 1 staff hour for every £330 that was taken at the till (they've probably pushed it to £360 by now), that's not till staff hours, that's all the staff in the store, so if they've got a manager and 2 staff in the shop and they go an hour with only one till on they need to have put near enough £1k through that till, and scanning speeds when I joined them were aimed at 1,000 but they'd increased that to 1,100 by the time I left. To put it in context, when I was working for Jacksons the shop I was in always had at least 3 of us in, sometimes 4 or even 5 at a time and was open for 16 hours a day 7 days a week (so 112 hours a week). When I moved to Aldi the sales in the shop over the week were near enough double, we were only open for 72 hours a week, and I don't think we ever had more than 3 staff on at a time. Having said they're not meant to be stroppy, we did have a customer who refused to go along with it and had been holding everybody up every time they came in so when they did it with me I moved to another till to serve everyone else first and told them if they could come up with a valid reason why they were more important than the rest of our customers I'd come back and serve them how they wanted to be served, if not they'd just have to show some respect to their fellow customers and do it the way the process works in there. Some places I'd have got in **** for it, but at the end of the day I was there to serve all the customers needs not the selfish wants of one customer in particular so one complaint the manager could ignore as I was following the company policy about scanning speeds was better than 4 or 5 complaints about me taking too long at the tills because I wasn't following policy.
