That's what you get when you charge €15 for a standing ticket or less than €200 for a standing season ticket.
I've said many times how my Inter season ticket was £105. That was about 5 years ago but I can't imagine they've gone up that much.
Despite the behavior of certain sections of the Chelsea fans Rafa did a fantastic job and handled the whole situation with honour. Remembering when Brian Clough (a hero of mine by the way) went to Leeds with their fans not wanting him, and made a total mess of things even though a lot of what he said was true, Rafa left Chelsea with his head held high, I wish him well at Napoli.
The climate is better most of the time in central and southern Italy, so stadium comfort is not so much an issue. People eat better so don't need all this hospitality **** that we have in this game. Snide Sky cards are common over there. The economy is also ****ed. The lack of money in Italian football means fewer overseas stars = means less power in European football. They also have a better established NO AL CALCIO MODERNO movement. Here there are powerful vested interests that don't want to give the oxygen of publicity to the likes of FCUM and what they represent. I realise that, but if stadiums were more comforting then people would be willing to go. Roofless stadiums, running tracks that make parts of the stadium have ridiculous views (better view watching on tv), Ultras and just generally poor facilities at a lot of stadiums. Look at the effect on attendances when City move to the KC. I was only able to go to Boothferry Park when my Grandad took time off work, my parents didn't like going there. But as soon as KC opened, me, my parents and my brother all got season tickets. A nice stadium with good facilities, good views from all around the stadium and usually little threat of hooliganism goes a long way to attracting families. It's only in this country that people bleat about bringing the gamily to football- the drive for this is provided by people who want to make it like US sport where obese families gorge themselves on junk food and get the cash tills ringing. Families kill football.
