http://www.thefa.com/england/mens-under-21s/News/2013/andros-townsend-withdraws-euros.aspx Doesn't say what it's in relationship to, I guess we'll hear more in the days to come. Shame if he's got himself involved in something stupid, especially after how he's raised his profile with us, hopefully just a silly mistake on his part.
I dont see a problem if hes betting on his own team but its a major problem if hes betting against the side hes playing for. That should mean a long long ban.
If he's been sensible he's been betting against us for the past few months.........might explain why he never ****ing passes!!!
It's got nothing to do with QPR even if the offence happened while he was on loan as he is the property of Spurs and they are responsible.
Most on here would have him as our 'Player of the Year', can't see it being anything sinister judging by the effort he put in...
I may be wrong but from what I gathered from the article is that players aren't allowed to bet on games in a competition they're involved in, so maybe he was just betting on other premiership games?
A good lad with the right attitude and a bright future inc England. Lets hope he isn't affected too much by this. If only the other players put in half the effort he did for us this season.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...nd-charged-breaching-betting-regulations.html 'Arry, in Doug & Dinsdale Piranah style - "he's a lovely boy, he used to give his mother flowers", comments:- QPR manager Harry Redknapp, however, admitted to being deeply surprised by the nature of the allegations as he had not seen anything to suggest Townsend had such an issue. 'I just wouldn't have had him down as a gambler, but you don't know what goes on when players leave the training ground,' said Redknapp. 'If I had been asked to picked 20 footballers who like a bet on the football I wouldn't have picked him, that's for sure. 'I just didn't think he was like that and I didn't have any idea he liked a bet on the football. 'He is a good kid and a talented footballer and I will call him to make sure he's OK. The main thing is that he didn't bet on QPR's matches by the looks of things, but it sounds like he's got a real problem.'
That's good news as its nothing seedy like throwing a game although its good news that the other 10 weren't suspected of it as they all looked guilty!
