Blimey - some ambition there from the Stoke Board. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22649939 Shaping up for an interesting season for the Potters..
Trust me if it happens Stoke will be there.Rearrange these words into a well known phrase: Fire Frying Out The Of Into Pan
My error Hairy...maybe we need a foot in mouth award...I hear Benteke has also courted Arsenal with a howler during a press conference yesterday. That'll go down well with Mr Lambert I'm sure
Hughes and Stoke make a pretty dour fit, I would say that looks on. Talking of fits, PL must have had one with Benteke's comment - lol
I read that in total disbelief. What has Hughes actually achieved during his managerial career? Also seen this on the BBC News website - http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...-wants-to-leave-Stoke-and-join-Liverpool.html. Butland and some ungeard of keeper from FC Twente - Stoke must be one of the bookies relegation favourites!!!!! Also interesting developments re Benteke - I wonder where he'll be playing next season, but it seems almost certain it won't be at Villa Park? Also heard that Bent can leave on a free and NO, I don't want to see him at Carrow Road!!!!
Stoke fans must be underwelmed by this, big time on villa, if benteke leaves, they'll make a massive profit which lambert and co will probably replace him with a decent replacement
Why do some managers keep getting employed after catastrophic failure. Th one that always perplexed me is the teams queuing up for Gary Megson after he shafted us!
If this was to happen then "Astonishing" would not even begin to cover it! Then again he might just be a perfect fit but I would guess the "Stokies" would not be best pleased if/when this was announced.
Excellent point. I'd expect Villa to hold out for aroound double what they paid for him. He'll certainly be missed, as he scored 19 of their 47 goals last season.
Reading other articles on the story, it sounds like when his move to Villa from Genk was in doubt, he effectively went on strike until they sold him. I wouldn't put it past him to do the same again, and that could reduce his transfer value.
The comments on the BBC story re: Hughes run to something like 24 pages and most of the posts I've read are not too endearing. Interesting one on Benteke JR - sounds like the kind of petulance that PL does not entertain for a second
BBC headline "Stoke City have made contact with Mark Hughes as they look to replace Tony Pulis as manager." Apparently they wrote the chairman's telephone number on a ball and then got Huth to boot it from one penalty area to the other, where Mark Hughes was standing .......
