Looks as though San Lorenzo have wasted no time in reigniting the speculation surrounding Colo. Their President says he intends to travel to England to speak to Colo about a return to his homeland.

I had half a hope that this nonsense had gone away, but it looks like an unsettling period ahead regarding our Captain and lynchpin.

This coupled with Pardew's seemingly Teflon coated backside and wanting two or three new personnel, does not inspire much to feel confident about or look forward too.

The season has only just ended, but l for one am already fed up with Newcastle news seemingly always being the wrong sort.

Should report them to Fifa, soon put a stop to it. Can't have this dragging on all summer.

I was wondering whether the San Lorenzo guy was allowed to say he was coming to England to talk with Colo. Is that not tapping up a player who is contracted ? Should he not approach the Club or Colo's agent ? Not sure l really understand what's going on with this. Or is it just a blatant ploy to unsettle Colo ?

The San Lorenzo needs to be talking to the club and then their bank manager/wonga.com before they talk to Colo. If Colo goes we need to replace him therefore San Lorenzo should have to pay top[ dollar for him.

So far as I can see, nothing has changed since January. Colo is still under contract. San Lorenzo still can't afford him but are still talking ****e.

I just honestly cant see Mike Ashley letting a £10M investment disappear for nowt. They can talk to Colo as much as they like but at the end of the day it comes down to one thing and one thing only...MONEY. If we get a fair price from him fair enough but it is literally time for San Lorenzo to "put their money where their mouth is".

If they keep plugging on with this blatant tapping up of a player then we should report them to FIFA and try to sue them (not sure if that's an actual possibility). Wouldn't it be ironic if the club who says they have no money were fined/sued for trying to get players on the cheap.

He has a signed contract so in theory if the club does not what to sell they can FCUK off, If we do then its top dollar so again if they can't match it FCUK off

I would not got to a Porsche garage and say I can't afford 80k but 25k and we have a deal, then go back the week after and try and agree the same daft deal

They seem to have issue with the realities of football and paying for things? What must their president be like at the supermarket? "These Melons are lifelong fans of me and you should just release them so I can enjoy them personally" "Sir, you have pay for those" "Oh you fascist!... Give back the Malvinas"

There's tapping up and then there's telling the world you will travel across the planet to talk to a footballer under contract without permission from the club whom holds the registration of said player.

Agree with most of the above posts. San Lorenzo's behaviour in this matter has been nothing short of shocking. Just proves they are small time.

Never mind the club, why doesn't Colo tell them this kind of approach isn't on and is disrespectful to his employers and fans?

I think the guy's great, best player and total professional – with the latter making it seem bloody odd he hasn't told them it's not right.

For me it harms his reputation too and if it were me I'd say talk to the club and make an offer that doesn't amount to a straw donkey and some maracas.

(I dunno if those things are even indicative of Argentina, but I thought I'd demo my cultural ignorance for comedy value)

At least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask when he tried to rob you. The whole things a complete joke........"we wish to sign Colo and we are going to approach him (totaly disregarding the fact hes under contract) and we would very much like it if we could sign him for free if thats okay with you" The wole things an insult. They must think ashley is some sort of easy touch, I can see this being long and drawn out, I doubt ashley will just let him go for nothing. If he goes(and im hoping he has a change of heart but thats unlikely) id expect to see some decent cash come because he will obviously need replaced.

I agree its a choice of keeping a player here who wants out and paying the wages.... or selling him on the cheap to get him off the books. Either way im going out tomorrow to buy some regain hair foam for men, grow a mop of curly hair and sob into a bottle of broon haha. Be interesting to see who they get into to replace him if he does go (although I wouldnt be suprised if we dont)
