I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Pardew , the dude needs to learn to shut up.

Why couldn't he have just declared that "we're not a selling club" and we won't be selling our stars?

If it happens due to an atrocious bid, then so be it if they meet our valuation like the Andy Carroll situation.
Him parading our stocks to the market sounds as if he knows he's not going to get enough to spend and needs to offload some star players to get more in his transfer kitty to me.
    Seriously...

He's almost getting his excuses in before he needs to.

Just wait for the end of the transfer window.... 'we've kept Tiote and Cabaye... which is LIKE two new signinigs'
We won't actually make any signinigs this summer... they will all be retentions!

Pardew the puppet. It's not pardew a decision to say this. It's Ashley's. if Ashley's wants to sell a pair of trainers he puts an advert out.

This is exactly the same. Ashley has asked pardew to say what he says. Let's sell some players, we can scrape the points again next season. Remember Ashley does not have a personal love for the club. He sees it as a business interest.

But this is par for the course, every manager since SBR has trotted out these lines.

We'll be getting Raylor(I think, not too sure) , Santon, and Krul back for next season. So that's already 3 new signings.

Let's hope this is not the basis of the argument for what meager amount of signings we make this summer again

No, Raylor is out for next season. Let's be honest, he's not playing football for NUFC again, he's as good as done. Leaving personal feelings aside - no-one less deserving of a career-threatener than this kid - it's a space on the payroll that won't replace. I know that sounds harsh and ridiculous, but am I wrong?

I agree, there's clearly a weakness in that knee now for it to happen twice. I suspect if he hadn't of signed a new contract as recently as the start of this year then the club would have come to some kind of settlement with him.

At 29 years old he'll now not play again until he's 30. He'll never reach the standards he did previously again and will most likely suffer many muscular injuries once he does return as a result of having two years out of the game.

I can't see Pardew being happy with selling a player he bought - it was decent money too.

    The thing about it is,

the clueless guy has no say at all if it happens.

Also, Raylor's issues remind me of Fat Ronaldo, when he was coming back for Inter. He came back on field for an emotional return, and seconds after went down again clutching his knee.
El Fenomeno was one of the greatest players ever, it was sad to see that happen to him.

I don't think it matters if Pards says we'll have to resist any large offers for our players. He's being truthful, any of our players are for sale at the right price. Not like if Pards keeps quiet other clubs are suddenly forget we've got some good players, this way the other clubs know Fat Mike's going to want their wife, kids and a kidney in payment for any of our players.
