Thought this might be of interest to some of you considering Saints' vast improvements in their social media presence over the last year or so. http://wallblog.co.uk/files/2013/05/SB100_pull_up_top_100.jpg http://www.socialbrands100.com/
This is really vague. But we're the 57th most 'social' brand! What does it mean for a business to be social?
Relationship with customers/fans. High presence on the internet usually promotes growth. Their are many more benefits also.
Is it a little too sceptical to point out that the 'specialist social brand agency' behind it is based in Southampton?
For a bit of context, this is where I got the report (I work in media advertising). Brand Republic is quite a respected industry publication - http://www.brandrepublic.com/news/1183539/ea-scoops-top-spot-social-brands-100/
Take it how you will, but the fact that we're included shows how much the club has put a focus on this. I'm pleased with the extras they now offer through Facebook/Twitter/YouTube/Vine (live commentary on matches, matchday uncovered, mini-interviews, half-time relay race) so am certainly not going to complain when pieces of news like this come about, recognising the efforts.
I'm in agreement that I am not sure how measurable all this is. I think that we can all agree that the clubs media team have done a fantastic job recently, pretty much from the teams trip to Barcelona up to now. Long may it continue!
