7 out of10 fans don't understand statistical analysis at all or are just too thick to do it so put them down automatically, probably because they heard somebody on TalkSport doing the same. To claim the fewer stats you have, the more informed you are is about as dumb as football fans get. Sometimes I despair for our education system. Get a clue.
The 71 that actually went in.
I was actually wondering the other day, with stats, does hitting the woodwork classed as on or off target? The ball didn't go wide, and it did hit the edge of the target. I'll get me coat....
It wasn't on target because it didn't go in. However, some of the woodworks were on target but got saved or deflected
what does a shot on target that gets saved and hits the woodwork count as? off target, as woodwork isn't classed as on target, or on target and don't count the woodwork part just the save. cant have a tick for both surely, as its only one shot with dif outcomes, does the save come first and it goes down as on target or do they count the hitting the woodwork in the stats part.
It would count as woodwork but also as a shot on target. This was my point above, if we hit the woodwork forty times (made that up) it does not mean we were unlucky forty times. Plus there will be other occasions when the ball was going to hit the woodwork but the keeper or a defender stopped it. What about the ones that are included in the woodwork count that still go in?
To be fair though, I never got to use mime, and my mum got up the duff by magic. I just need to get to work on men giving birth. Any volunteers? Or do I just pick on Matthew, he'd love that.
Since we were actually allowed to buy some attackers in January we have shown top 4 form in all depts. The woodwork stat is pointless bollocks but our league form with our new signings, and add in Suarez staying, should make even the most pessimistic LFC fan feel at least a little bit hopeful for next season. Imagine if we had Sturridge and Coutinho from August. We'd of at least finished above Everton. For the first time since 2009/10 I am actually excited and optimistic about next season and I'm as pessimistic a fan as they come usually. The signings were looking at too make me feel confident as they are the right sort for once, value for money signings from abroad rather than overpaid English ****e, although if the transfer Committee would of let BR get his way that could be very different. Hello £10m Ashley Williams.
So, you think those two are worth two more points then? PS...I'm only joking, obviously it would be a little arrogant to claim they are worth eleven more points
