Can only think of the FA Cup final (which we still lost, so hardly the best), Against Everton and the goal against Man City.
FA Cup final, and the two games before. He was a game changer in them. Shame he never got a fair crack of the whip.
The 1st Man City goal, partly because it was probably his best goal for us, but mainly because it meant he scored for us before Torres scored for Chelsea.
Really wanted him to succeed at Liverpool. He might not be the most glamorous of players but sometimes I prefer a big, lumbering ox of a player over a showpony. Loved watching him bring the ball to feet and hold it up (something he much improved on during last season), not to mention the constant threat at set pieces. When he was at Newcastle he was by far one of the best players in the air I've ever seen. Wish him all the best, despite the media attention to his lifestyle he was never anything less than a professional whilst with us
In an ideal world, I would love to keep him as another option to come off the bench. But we're not in a position to spend high on his wages just to sit on the bench, and we could really use the money to improve other areas. My favourite Carroll moments - not too many but I would pick: - Scoring the winner against Blackburn in the last minute. - His first two goals against Man City, a trademark header and a bullet with his left foot. - 'Game-changing' performance in the FA Cup final where we were embarrassing until he came on.
