Welcome to the club Jordan Wynter. Just signed him up and he has tweeted that he will be part of the first team! He is a defensive midfielder from Arsenal. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/jordan-wynter/profil/spieler_122720.html https://twitter.com/JordanWynter Jordan Wynter ‏@JordanWynter 22m Buzzing to be apart of the 1st team set up, love all the new fans tweeting me! Can't wait to start in July!
It's worth noting that on his Twitter account he announced that he was to leave Arsenal on the 17th of this month. Perhaps my pessimism is waning, but it looks like we moved swiftly to land this guy. As I said in the last post, I hear he's pretty good, and although he struggled a bit with the U21's he was apparently a regular fixture of the academy team the year before. I reckon he could do a job and I'd love to see him in the first-team, although despite his tweets I reckon he'll stay in the academy for a bit.
My first reaction was that he would be for the development squad, but if So'D thinks he is ready to be around the first team then who am i to argue
Reading in to it I think he is here for the first team. He decided to leave arsenal because they wanted to move him into the reserve team and he obviously wants 1st team football. He is almost 20 now and at that age they should be playing first team football even if that is at a lower league team (like us) Cunningham is only 21 and we signed him from Manchester city where before his forest loan he was in the reserve/academy and look how great he turned out to be. Jordan Wynter has said himself that he is part of the first team. Unless the club have lied to him he wouldn't say this unless he would be playing with the first team. Hopefully being with Arsenal for 11 years he will have adopted Wenger's style of play too! Which should slot in lovely with the way SOD wants us to play. A very exciting signing and finally something to be cheerful about
Jordan Wynter is a highly talented, combative and versatile player who was a mainstay of Arsenal’s Under 18 midfield in the 2011/12 season, whilst at the same time breaking in to the then Reserves squad. This season, following recovery from injury, Jordan has stepped up to the Under 21 squad, often playing at right back. Having joined Arsenal at the age of 8, Jordan signed his first professional contract with the Gunners in the summer of 2012. Lee Payne, head of Full Contact’s Football Agency team said “Jordan is a top class prospect. I believe he has all the attributes to take him to the very top of the professional game, and he has a modesty and humble nature which will stand him in good stead for the challenges ahead. Whether as a holding midfield player, at right back or indeed anywhere across the back four, Jordan has the talent to shine at the highest level.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22630018?utm_source=cityfeed&utm_medium=twitter The 19-year-old has agreed a two-year deal, with the prospect of first-team football a key factor in the move.
http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/20130522-wyntersigns-831788.aspx SOD has confirmed himself that he is part of the first team First summer signing confirmed. Former Arsenal youngster Jordan Wynter has become Cityâs first signing of the summer. The 19-year-old joins on a two-year deal having turned down an extended contract at Emirates Stadium, after initially signing professional terms last year. A combative central midfield player, Wynter will go straight into Sean OâDriscollâs first team plans for the new season. City head OâDriscoll said: âJordan is a versatile player schooled at Arsenal Football Club. âHe is comfortable in possession, strong physically and a welcome addition to the club as we try to change the dynamic of the squad. âHe is a young player we feel we can develop, and one that has all the desire and hunger to succeed.â
Just a thought I'm sure I read in the London Standard that he is/was great mates with Nico Yennaris(think I've got the spelling right) who was on loan at Notts County last year perhaps we could try and get him on loan for a year that would sort out our midfield perm any 2or3 from Elliott,Reid,Kelly,Wynter,Yennaris reckon that would be pretty tasty
On his twitter they are mates. Yennaris has already give him his best wishes for joining us. Arsenal fans (me included) Rate him quite a bit. He has played for Arsenal a few times and he would be a great addition to our squad.
Sorry don't use twitter so have no idea what mates means in that context is it just they are at the same club or were? just a mate who lives in Nottingham and watches both clubs says we should try and get Yennaris on loan in fact he said that in the last transfer window after he had seen him play somewhere or other, he's a football geek who goes to grounds all over the country just to watch footie, been at the Gate with me a few times a real footie nut.
There's only one Jordan Wynter One Jordan Wynter Walking Along Singing a song Walking in a Wynter wonderland Should imagine this will be his song.
My usual sarcasm tells me that we generally leave our signings until just before the season starts and we are desperate. Anyway enough of that and I send my warm welcome from Canada to him and just hope he plays with the same optimism with which he speaks because that would be a breath of fresh air at Ashton gate after all the bull rhetoric we have heard in the past. Welcome aboard the good ship Bristol City young man and I know you will enjoy life here as long as the accent doesn't put you off (dig at Nicky and not the supporters).
Good start to the summer - you will notice that this was nowhere on the football bullsh*t (sorry rumours website) before it happened. I know fans want to be kept informed, but we need to do our business discretely
Well as a club we are known for making players fall in love with the city/fans. With Wynter signed and Flint looking likely to sign. Its 2 young exciting players. Which both will/should improve our defence. I can see us lining up like this next season. Ive read from Doncaster/Forest fans that SOD likes to play with 1 upfront and a packed midfield. ---------------GK Moloney Flint LCB Cunningham ------------Wynter RM Kelly Kilkenny Anderson -----------Baldock
Good to see an early signing, and hopefully one that is young, hungry and eager to prove himself after leaving one of the "Big 4" clubs. Doesn't harm that he'll have been coached in the Wenger way of playing. I won't get too excited just yet, as we've bought or loaned from the Prem before, and been disappointed. But on paper, Wynter looks promising, and better still, nice to see the club doing some early transfer business rather than leaving it till very late on.
What the **** is Kilkenny still doing in the team Plus is it that much colder in Bristol than London? Judging by his big puffa jacket in May
He wouldn't be in my team ROD but SOD rates him so I think we will see a lot of him next season...... I think he'll be a good signing windy Like you said he will be young and hungry and wanting to make a name for himself.
With any sort of luck Killa will want to keep his inflated NPC wages and opt out. Still think Yenarris on loan as well would give us strength in depth in midfield.
