European Cup - in those days a PROPER competition, played in a straight knockout fashion with unseeded draws, home and away. One bad game and its bye bye. Oh, and only played between the actual CHAMPIONS of each country, not 2nd 3rd and 4th places. That was proper football played against the best Europe had to offer. Reaching the Final alone was a massive achievement, unlike today. And when Leeds did qualify for the Chumps Lge, we did England proud by going the farthest, all the way to the semis, knocking out clubs like AC Milan and Barcelona along the way. So yes, we are very proud of our club. And just so you know, the damned united was not about Leeds, it was about Clough wanting to emulate Revie, be like him. It was only after being sacked for behaving badly that Peter Taylor told him "you'll never be like Revie, so stop trying, be Brian Clough". Only then did he realise he simply had to follow his own principles and not copy someone else. What he did do was get his teams to play, be professional, be hard and strong, and never give in. Great credit to Revie that he inspired Clough, and Leeds for giving him the blueprint.
Dear me - fancy comparing Stoke city with Leeds - what an insult..............to Stoke. Mind you, Yeovil at home to Leeds United does have a homely sort of feel about it. No doubt the good folk of Yeovil will welcome LUFC fans as much as Bournemouth will.
What would a Watford fan know about away support? You take two minibuses to away games and you think you can comment on the mighty traveling support of Leeds United? The last time I checked Palace had sold out their allocation for Wembley while your tinpot club still had 16,000 tickets left Pathetic
We sold out on Saturday. Not that facts ever seemed to get in the way of an LUFC opinion. Watford has population of 80000. What do you want me to say , Leeds are a small club in Farsley ?
The Watford fans still going on, I did like them and wanted them to win until they got so bitted about Leeds beating them (The worst Leeds team for years)
I did say "the last time I checked", which was on Friday, and it was indeed a fact at that time that Palace had sold their entire allocation and Watford still had 16,000 tickets left. Still, well done, if you go up, Wigan will be replaced by an even smaller tinpot club than themselves, and that's an achievement in itself
As a stoke fan I have to say to compare the two teams is a joke. Leeds were actually a good side with a bit of grit where as stoke at the moment are piss poor. How can u compare a team that has won titles to a bottom half team that has only just survived this year
