The fact that the Europa Leage final was played between two teams who dropped down from the CL just makes a mockery of the entire tournament and truly cements its place as a lesser tournament. The majority of teams that drop down don't partivularly want to be there and that generally makes for terrible football. Either way, congratulations to Chelsea. Not that I give a ****, didn't even realise they'd won anything until the Friday. I suppose the majority of Chelsea fans still think there was some UEFA conspiracy behind them ending up in the EL in the first place. At the end of the day they showed they weren't good enough for the CL by finishing 6th last year.
It's basically the "Plate" of European football. The Chavs getting so excited about winning it reminds us all that they're still climbing the football ladder. I just saw clips of Terry and Lampard giving speeches to the Chav fans/members of the BNP after the Everton game. Cringeworthy. Utterly classless club.
