Both Belgian, both young, both scoring goals for fun in the worlds most competitive league. Which would you rather have at Liverpool though? Who do you think will become the best player?

Benteke fits our style better and is more flexible.

Benteke by miles. Lukaku is incredibly lazy for most of the game, he is good when he tries though. Benteke scored a lot for a poor team too.

  4. Lakuku will be the better player imo

I agree, think Benteke has had the better season but Lukaku is the better prospect. Both fantastic players though. Lukaku can be better than Drogba, still very young

I am not convinced either will turn out to be top class but Lukaku is the better prospect out of the two I think. They are at roughly the same age but Lukaku is younger and has more time to develop than Benteke.

And for the record I think their goal tallies are misleading because the defending in this years premier league has been abysmal. Teams like Wigan, Reading, QPR & Aston Villa have been giving goals away for fun this season and there's a lack of top class centre backs in the league due to injury, loss of form and overall lack of ability.

Agreed <ok> add Sunderland and the Barcodes to that list too.

  9. Benteke has only performed against the big named clubs #playingforhimself

I'd love us to sign Lakuku but he will be back at Chelsea next season.

Lukaku was playing in a better team this season, and im pretty sure he wont be sold anytime soon anyway.

Benteke i think will probably stay at Villa at least one more season

  12. Benteke as openly said that Villa are a stepping stone for him. Can't see Lakuku wanting to play third fiddle to Torres and Ba, never mind them bringing someone else in

Tough one as Lakaku looks a player.

Think we'd be better off with Benteke though. We have flair and movement already.

I honestly reckon..... benteke is now a 25mil player cos villa will want to make the moeny.

chelsea will hock lukaku cos they'll fill thier team with 60mil players this summer so he could go very cheap.

Benteke is more of a finished product right now and is a tough customer. i think lukaku is a bit raw and hasn't quite got it yet.

all in all, just watch michal n'goo next year lads!

Benteke has power and skill. Would be a great player to have rotating with Sturridge, or in a three of Suarez, Benteke, Sturridge.

Same with Lukaku, although he has more power, less skill.

They're both great young players, but medium / long term I think Lukaku will be the better player.

Benteke has had a great season, but I'd be amazed if he repeats the same level next season. Lukaku is still a kid really, & already looks a beast, I can see him being unplayable in a season or two's time.

Not sure going back to Chelsea to sit on their bench is the best thing for his development though, it'll be interesting to see what Mourinho chooses to do with the lad for next season.

should imagine Lukaku will get game time next season at Chelsea.

have heard from a few baggies that he wont be back on loan again there next season, be surprised if he went on loan elsewhere as he seems comfortable at WBA, so he surely must get game time, depends on the formation they play i suppose, but if they do the lone striker, will he be 3rd choice?

You'd currently have to see him as 3rd pick behind Torres & Ba, as Maureen will have them playing with a 4-3-3 / 4-2-3-1 formation & I doubt you'll see him playing out wide.

I hope he sends him our way for a season.

One of the focal points of Jose's team whilst at Chelsea was Drogba, of the three strikers he currently has, Lukaku is the nearest thing to Drogba, if he wants to go down that route again I can see him getting more game time!
Personally don't care if he plays for Chelsea or not and the same with Benteke, our style is more about smaller, more mobile and technically better players and can't see either of them getting in ahead of the likes of Sturridge, Suarez (if he stays) and Ford.

Back then he had Duff and Robben either side and Essien, Makalele and Lampard in the middle.

Oscar, Mata and Hazard wont quite fit into that same shape.
